Afghan officials voice scant remorse to Pakistan

I'm surprised that many Pakistanis here, some of whom should know better swallow the line that once the U.S. withdraws from Afghanistan, it will be some kind of cakewalk for pro-Pakistani forces (aka Taliban) to establish their writ over Afghanistan militarily and simply wipe out any "pro-India" forces. History is not easily repeatable as many here think, India was pretty much bankrupt when the Soviets left Afghanistan & any support (military & financial)India could offer the NA forces was extremely limited. That situation does not play itself out exactly like that anymore. India can & will sustain a very high level of assistance to any pro-India/anti-Pakistani coalition who would also be buttressed by the Russians & the Iranians & of course the U.S.. Pakistanis who envisage some kind of a cake walk have a hard lesson coming their way. Once the ISAF & the U.S. have left, the war will become extremely ruthless without any of the "niceties" that is necessitated by the western presence. Pakistan is in for more trouble, not less as many Pakistanis are wont to believe. As the old saying goes "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it!"

No thankyou we dont need your charity, all of them who are scantly sorry for the deaths: Well they can shove it where the sun dont shine.

this is nothing surprise for me and rest of Pakistanis. There is no friend of Pakistan in Afghanistan.Pakistan should leave Afghanistan at its own.Our relations with Afghanistan should be same as we have with India. We should strengthen our border so that we stop all the anti Pakistani elements.

......
I shudder to think what would happen once the ISAF departs Afghanistan. Methinks there would be a veritable civil war breaking out, descending into chaos. It seems the polarization of Afghan society is complete.

All the more reason to fast track the training of the Afghan soldiers & officers. But our Govt seems reluctant to send our trainers to Afghanistan which is a more effective way rather than have them come here.

It is not only the ANA which is opposed to Pakistan;the general civilian population also dislike Pakistan:
Attitudes to Pakistan are overwhelmingly negative, with 91% saying they have an unfavourable view of the country and 86% saying they believe Pakistan has a negative influence in Afghanistan. Sixty-seven per cent say Pakistan is allowing the Taleban to operate within its borders

New Delhi: Reflecting tremendous goodwill of its soft power in Afghanistan, India has been voted as the most favoured country, getting 71% votes in an opinion poll there while Pakistan was viewed favourably by a meagre 2% of the people
BBC - Press Office - Afghanistan: national opinion poll
Opinion poll: 71% Afghans favour India, 2% Pakistan

The fieldwork was carried out by the Afghan Centre for Socio-Economic and Opinion Research in Kabul.

the survey conduced by Kabul-based Afghan Centre for Socio-Economic Opinion Research (ACSOR).

So...?

Not every poll will be conducted by ISI for Pakistanis to believe in them. It's like you can take it or throw it.

OK guys all off topic posts deleted.

Lets get back to topic :)

.......Once the ISAF & the U.S. have left, .......

Depends on 'how' they leave.

Already there are talks of removing just the 'bulk' of the ground troops and stationing some troops along with air power in permanent bases around the country so that the Talibs don't come to power. And this is how it will most probably work out.

You just don't get it. And you never will.

Just carry on making more deals with the mayor of Kabul and his coterie of drug lords, war lords, and miscellaneous criminals...

Afghani's are waking up to the fact that they need economic and military freedom and looking to move forward, and you are right Pashtuns should be involved in rebuilding of AF - Pakistan will have a very constructive role in this if it so desires.

We don't care about Afghan hate i think Irani hate us more than Afghani's do but we are united in many things. US, Ind and Afghan warlords like it or not Pakistan will protect its military, economic interest in Afghanistan by hook or by crook.

Don't mind me saying that, but they may feel the very same about you. They are rough, they are extreme, but they also are a reality and these simple denunciations "scum etc." don't negate the fact that they are a major party in that region with whom talks will have to be held and with whom deals would have to be made.

Achha ,thats intestesting ....

Then why you guys launched military ops against TTP ,aka Pakistani Taliban instead up holding talks and making deals.

TTP wants the same thing for pakistan what Afghan Taliban for Afghanistan.

You guys hate Pakistani Taliban and fights its medieval fundamentalism ,on the other hand you provide unflinching support for Afghan Taliban and wants to people of Afghanistan to suffer the menace rejected at home ,just because you can use Afghan Taliban as strategic asset against India.

No wonder Afghan of all denomination hate Pakistan for its sheer hypocricy..

Actually this news just validates pakistans position that a hostile afghan govt. is unacceptable.

Very classy behaviour from afghans.
