What's new

Afghan govt wants IAF support to crush Taliban as fighting worsens across the country

nor the technical competence.

remember it PAF years to perfect it's close combat support to the army in it;s battle against TTP.
Their is a thread currently running on the lack of this perfect support in baluchistan, with the air base just 30 km away from the attacked base.

I have to disagree. I feel India and Afghanistan do have good regards for each other beyond international relations. But i can't see a practical solution to how to keep the supply line open to the government.
Its unfortunate that in a few months Afghans might again be under the boot of uneducated warlords.
I hold usa totally responsible. Forced the Afghan government to release 1000s of Taliban prisoners under some shady assurances.
Withdrawal is also a military skill and the Americans totally scre...d that up.

Indian government will obviously have a better regard for the current Afghan administration in Kabul. But that does not mean that India will make foreign policy commitments like fighting the Taliban (even if logistics is not a problem). The best India can do is offer preferential access to Indian market for trade.

Well technically speaking they can conduct airstrikes from their base in Tajikistan. But we all know the professional of indian fighter pilots and maintenance issues vast fleet of IAF is facing. They can't properly defend indian territory defending afghanistan is out of the question. At best they will drop bombs and kill crows in afghanistan .

This will only jeopardize and put an end to Ghani plus Tajikistan won't allow it because they could become direct target due to it.. They won't allow it based on that alone. ISI is good and will get word of everything that moves and this could lead to Ghani's premature demise

you clearly have no idea how this works.

assets have to earmarked for close support ... usually in a predefined operation or an area of defense

.
If this happens than Pakistan also has right to strike afghan military targets inside Afghanistan

Let's c how long war lasts then

.
What kind of response is that?.

you recommended indian ammunition... and given indian quality control it is a great idea

like indian condoms made with holes... as reflected by it's super large population
lets focus on the topic rather than focusing on things you don't use

.
but your gov makes such statements.... so is that just a eye wash?

Despite the impression you may have, Indian public does not care much for this type of news. I don't think gov. worries about public perception in this matter. Indian local news is usually dominated by more grounded domestic problems.

yes... behaviour guided by morals.
hard for you to understand.. i know

I will not stand in the way of your hubris :-)

Baluchistan has been suffering daily attacks from the last 3 months. With Waziristan situation under claimed control, any specific reason to let the troops in baluchistan get killed so frequently without air support ?

Haha. Been reading about this right from the time i have joined this forum.
Bet China invades taiwan before Pakistan exercises this right.

the size of the attacks..

TTP attacked in numbers running to hundreds.

BLA in contrast sends much smaller units... you going to send in a F-16 for a 4 man squad?

the point is you clearly didnt understand the comparision.

PAF has technical ability , competence and experince to provide accurate close air support as needed... this is a very hard skill PAF has aquired.

Pakistan has maintained complete deniability over strikes in Afghanistan but it is an open secret that Pakistani jets have bombed target in Afghanistan.

On topic: Even if India had a border with Afghanistan, i highly doubt that India would have sent forces inside Afghanistan when India faces a threat from Pakistan and China. From Indian point of view indulging in a war which can loom forever is nor practical neither sane.

. . .
In other words - Ashraf Ghani is doing everything short of becoming the Bacha in bacha baazi to save his increasingly shrinking seat.

Now, how does he propose the IAF do this?
They will have to fly through either Iran or through China to get to Afghanistan unless they want to spend the extra 3000 miles going around everything. From that point onwards they will likely be based at bagram which for all its infrastructure is well situated for rocket and hidden Manpad attacks. It seems that the Indian leadership, while bloodthirsty for Pakistanis aren’t that stupid to walk into an open ambush.

So if we run a basic metric of Indian news your suggestion is that foriegn news especially on Pakistan or China related topics will be less than 10% or even 20% of all content?
After all, content is run based on the interest of consuming audience. More so, it would also belie the number of Indians that visit this site, comment on Pakistani issues or other topics relating to it as well.
@Foxtrot Alpha @Slav Defence ideas on who could do this metric to rubbish this sanctimonious claim from across the border.
