Aero India 2023

If India really needed those fighters, they can get it.
Yes there was no money but the money we are talking here is in the budget for the Military not that India has no money. Given the threat perception, India will spend proportionately. However, with the Chinese getting belligerent, and US understanding that F-16s and F-18s may not interest India, F-35 stands an outside chance -- it can't be ruled out.

Whatever happens, It will be a treat for us Indians to see her fly over our skies.
by then, India's own project is likely ready, what is the point of getting another platform.

I can see that you are here for, good lines and comebacks. Not for healthy discussion, there is no point in engaging with you clearly.
You have crashed every single aircraft you've bought, you have bragged about the TEJAS for so long and you have elevated a pilot who was shot down and captured by the enemy, into hero status.

What is there to say?

no real need for real stealth in our theatre of ops yet

there is not going to be a big war with Pk or China anytime soon

the principle of 'credible minimum deterrence' should apply here too.. 270 odd MKI + others + ground and sea assets is enough to keep the Sino-Pak threat at bay

China are not stupid to open a new front when they're already under some pressure by the US/west

Pk are in a bad way with all the internal economic and political instability, no chance they make a move to grab land from India.

India has been struggling to get their 4th gen fighter ready for the last 40 years.

Forget about they getting 5th gen fighter ready in the 21st century.

Pakistan will buy J-35 if India buys F-35 I think.

Costly affair for both countries , better to keep what is in hand .

We dont need fifth gen for pak , bangla , nepal , shrilanka . China will be tackled by america as far as air warfare is concerned .

Quick change of plans after Russia submitted a very sweet offer to India for the checkmate - promising to grant even more control than the Su-57 fiasco and willing to let India make a truly homebuilt version.

Hopefully, people will realize why I wanted Pakistan to play both sides rather than sidelining the Russians under the excuse they arm India and sticking to the Americans time and time again. They don't realize relation building takes time and cost-benefit is developed. Choosing blocks never worked in the past and never will down the road.

Maybe in 20 years

India could have ordered F 35 by now if we hadn't signed up for a partnership with Russia on Su 57 which has under-delivered. If you think that the US had any issues offering F 35 to Inida, they were EXTREMELY keen for it. Because of our excellent experience with Su 30 we were keen on Su 57. So India was not keen on F 35, not the other way around.

Doesn't matter what the russians offer now. We have been working with them to figure out if the Su 57 issues can be fixed- no luck after a decade of review.

Sad to say but they have failed to get the technology working to the level that is needed and India's plans to induct 5th Gen jets have been delayed by over a decade. Better to bite the price bullet and induct F 35:

F 35 for heavy category jets + Su 30s
AMCA + RAFALE for medium category jets
LCA Mk1/2 for 4th Gen point interceptors

Rest will slowly retire in the next 10 to 15 years
