Yeah that project turned out subpar. Basically a lot of Russian projects did. Maybe because of the production, maybe the designWell before the 1st prototype flew. Almost a decade before that we signed up with the russians. We were extremely happy with the Sukhoi 30 so gambled that the Su 57 will come up tops. It was a reasonable assumption. But somehow they never got the formula right.
Introducing the F-21, Mike Kelley, vice president of India Aeronautics, Strategy and Business Development, said the single-engine F-21 jet would have the most optimal life cycle cost, lower by 30%, and lower carbon footprint compared to the closest twin-engine competitors for the Indian Air Force, besides ensuring the longest service life of 12,000 flight hours. The F-21 will complement India’s Tejas and Rafale in playing a critical operational role for the Indian Air Force, the company said.
The fighter wings to be exhibited are manufactured by Lockheed Martin Aerostructures (TLMAL), a joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) and Lockheed Martin, which is also the single global source of C-130J empennage assemblies that are installed on the all-new Super Hercules aircraft with over 190 deliveries. The fighter wings are made with 74% indigenisation, integrating over 70 Indian suppliers.

If we had to buy an American jet, personally it would be YF-23 or nothing. I've heard Japanese might get their hands on this beauty.
No I was talking about other stuff like Armata, which was overhyped and production turned out way too slow,Very few Sukhoi's have failed and the flankers are legendary. I think the mistake was to treat the Su 57 as an evolution of Su 30. They should have started from scratch instead of thinking they can incrementally improve an existing design.
The tender which Godrej won calls for supply of 6 units within 3 years starting 1st quarter 2024. Let's see.Been waiting for this, hope it gets certified soon.
Can anyone here with knowledge confirm my understanding, that this seems to be just dry section without afterburner please?
Interesting, so can this be for Ghatak? It's supposed to use the engine without afterburner right? The tender which Godrej won calls for supply of 6 units within 3 years starting 1st quarter 2024. Let's see.
This is why I caution people not to look too deep into the HLFT-42 design as yet..it is still a very early concept design based on the HF-24 Marut, whose aerodynamics were considered superb.
Here is the latest HAL IMRH helicopter model. Much improved, way more refined as compared to the IMRH model displayed at last Aero India, this is now under development.
