Aero India 2021 Thread: News & Discussions

Very informative response, thank you.

But seriously tho, You don’t think there would be at least a little bit of temptation to pick up a couple of B-1B Lancers if India had the chance to acquire them?
No maybe because of our Geography, our adversaries share borders while USA and Russia are thousands of kilometres away, hence they both need bombers. Same for China as their adversaries need to be attacked from long distances.

Yup it could be Malaysia, but it may be Philippine as well. You can sell it to them as long as the price is competitive enough against Western made fighters. While majority of ASEAN mainland nation (Vietnam is excluded) has strong relation with China, so the order will definately not come from them.

This is more BS from HAL. MK1A has not even flown yet, and they are due to sign an export order? No one (outside of India) is that stupid.

MK1A is just Avionics upgrade, pretty much like F-15EX is upgraded version of F-15E.

Make your mind up

" he Aircraft Research and Design Centre (ARDC) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) had completed the structural design for Tejas Mark 1A which is now awaiting clearance from Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC), Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA) and Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) while system design works are in progress which will be completed by February 2021. A total of 200 flight trials will be conducted with upgraded systems on two limited series production (LSP) aircraft, while final configuration for Tejas Mark 1A will be ready for production by 2022–23. The major improvements on Tejas Mark 1A are in operational roles and increasing the combat ability by addition of active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, unified electronic warfare suite (UEWS), self protection jammer (SPJ), Astra Mark 1, ASRAAM, digital 2D and 3D moving maps with perspective view for pilot, integration of GNSS augmentation like GAGAN and additional GLONASS, NAVIC satellite navigation systems. To increase turn around time and ease of long term maintainability, new set of cables will be incorporated in Tejas Mark 1A to add space inside aircraft while a technique called panel-in-panel will increase visibility of components and reduce daily inspection time "

So if it is quite an upgrade from the standard LCA people will want to see it fly first. Certainly export customers. Comparison with F-15 is laughable. People are happy to buy an F-15EX from Boeing after they have delivered thousands of F-15s to 10 international customers over 50 year period.

Please do not put HAL and the LCA in the same sentance

Major defence companies now know that in terms of MMRCA India for the last 10 years has played them. Like the Indians you get in car show rooms, loving the attention from the salesman, pretending they are serious about buying, kicking the tyres than walking off quietly after the salesman gets bored of their 87th question on price.....

Ah so now you reveal what you do for a living..car salesman! Lol
The RFI Specifically mentions, the aircraft should have carrier operations capability.

No, it's only for touch and go operations on an aircraft carrier. No landing required.

Not my job, but even if it was, why would you find it funny? Any hard working job is a good one. Is it beneath you or your caste? Your comment reveals much about a typical mindset.....

some significant improvements mark1a looks, the same as,mark 1 but is clearly twice the combat plane if not more..

we should not worry about exporting yet..
that will happen in time .
3rd production line inaugurated during aero India, let's get production up to 16 fighters and beyond.
loving the work that is going on from tejas eco system.on mark 2 Amca and the wingman and lift drones,.

we are arriving as serious aerospace power
just like our navy and indian space programme we will.grow leaps and bounds, now,

It reveals so much about your lack of knowledge and the HUGE chip you carry on your shoulder against Indians and Hindus. Massive inferiority complexes like yours manifest themselves in your incessant nasty, trolling behaviour.

that complex is subdued lately
the sight of aero.india and the shear scale of indian aerospace programmes has me in spin he must be seriously rattled

I had no idea India was developing
3 rudra stand off weapons
lift combat drones
cat wingman to be controlled by mark 2 tejas.
that uttam.aesa radars
Astra, mark 3 never mind the Astra mark 2
or that Amca first flight is only 5 years, away

I'm.shocked

anyway delighted we signed deal for mark1a

any news on deal for 15 light attack choppers yet
