not 100% indigenous , Design n development Indian. More indigenous then anything PAK have in his inventory like mustaq trainer , Al-Khald etc....

Where does the article say anything about either Smerch or Honeywell?

BTW the IA already has 90 km range smerch MBRLs, and they will be used for a long time, with locally produced ammo. Pinaka is a completely Indian MBRL meant to replace the older grad systems.

Neither Smerch nor Honeywell have anything to do with it.

India will soon produce its first tactical weapons guidance device under licence from the US Honeywell.

The device, TALIN 2000 (or Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator), can guide a weapon to hit a designated target with near-zero error, ensuring its precision destruction with minimal collateral damage.

The device can be installed for one-time use on bombs, missiles and rockets and gets destroyed in the explosive impact after leading the weapon to its target.

The chip, latest in its generation, can also be used on vehicles or person as it is small and wearable, company sources told India Strategic defence magazine.

Honeywell has signed an agreement with Tata Power SED to produce this sophisticated device, after clearance from the US government, and install it on systems like the Pinaka Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) and the Akash surface to air missiles.

The post is about pinaka , from where did the smerch came from , or you were confused with between the two ??

Sources said Russia had expressed reservation to meet Indian conditions to indigenise the production of rockets, allowing the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) to produce them here. In August 2012, an MoU was signed between the OFB and Russian companies — Rosoboronexport and Splav "SPA" to manufacture five versions of Smerch Rockets.

Love, the denials By Indian members, this isn't the same thing this has different color BLA BLA BLA. This is Russian weapon with Indian paint job.

1) Pinaka has been in operational service for a long time, and was used with devastating effects in the Kargil war. TALIN 2000 has not been purchased yet.
2) The TALIN-2000 that India is purchasing is a land nav system to be mounted on vehicles like IFVs and APCs, and maybe (I'm not sure) on the Tatra trucks that launch Pinaka. All it does is help the driver find his way, not help the rocket find its target.
3) The ordnance mounted TALIN may or may not be purchased in future, my guess is that it won't. Regardless of that, the Pinaka-1 and Pinaka-2 are both ready, the former in use and the latter about to enter service soon. Neither of them have TALIN-2000, both use unguided rockets.

Pinaka is an Indian indegenous weapon system, and a world class one too.

For the last time - Smerch and Pinaka are completely different things, meant to complement each other. Their range, caliber, FCS are all different. Development of Pinaka started in the 1980s, and it entered service in the 90s. We also manufacture rockets for Smerch, but that's a separate, incompatible thing.

We are not in the habit of repainting foreign missiles green and renaming it after foreign invaders and pretending it is a homegrown thing. Like North Korean ding-dongs becoming Ghaznis and Ghauris.

Dude it's Honewell plus pinaka not smearch. And donn even try to say pinaka is re branded smearch. Calibur of Pinaka is 214mm and Smerch is 300mm

He is having comprehension issues as it is, don't make it more difficult for him, as it is he can't make out difference between "chalk and cheese" or that the Smerch and Pinaka are different weapon systems.

The most similarity both systems maybe that they both are MBRL, which fire rockets. But both are lethal downrange. Except that everything is different . I don't know whether you are blinded by nationality or you donn want to see the obvious diffrence.

Yo
I think you have confused India with Pakistan. I know this a standard procedure among the Pakistan Armed forces inherited from your masters up north but India doesn't do this kind of $hit.
