ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The United Arab Emirates has sold security vessels to Pakistan.

The UAE firm Gulf Craft has delivered 12 custom-built vessels to the Pakistan Coast Guard. The delivery was the first of several orders, with the initial phase of the project reported at $1 million.

Six of the fiberglass boats measure 36 feet. The others are 20 feet long.

"This is the conclusion of the first part of a larger order from the Pakistan Coast Guard and illustrates Gulf Craft's continued success in building up new export markets," Gulf Craft executive manager Erwin Bamps said. "We are confident that substantial orders will follow as our reputation spreads in the subcontinent."
