So both sides can claim intrusion at the same time while the other would say there is no intrusion. India's hasn't lost anything, just seems like the disputed area between the two sides is where the Chinese have sent large number of troops. That disputed area was never with India, it was disputed so there is no question of India losing anything. India will have them retreat if they haven't already. This is not the first time this is happening.

Some party hack issuing threats that he neither can execute nor can influence is hardly relevant, except to those avidly in wait for anything that will allow them to write this kind of bile-filled post. As you know very well, India has been scrupulous in fulfilling her obligations under the Indus Waters Treaty; this has been tested more than once by a weak, frightened partner to the treaty rushing to arbitration, and being sent away with a flea in the ear every time.

I sometimes think that those of you who live in a world of fantasy, where, from your keyboards, you conquer vast empires and influence history, have completely forgotten the difference between threats, the kind of things you specialise in, sheltered and immune in the anonymity of cyber-space, and hostile action, the kind of things that China substitutes for neighbourly relations.

The maps do not need a doctorate in geography to read. Both sides have different views of the Line of Actual Control, as that is a hypothetical line and is not subject to physical scrutiny by the two sides from moment to moment. So the Chinese patrol to the limit of their claimed line, the Indians patrol to the limit of their claimed line. There is overlap, the patrol paths go into the other party's claimed controlled area, and on occcasion, there are two patrols left face to face on narrow trails where vehicles cannot reverse or turn.

Whatever infrastructure development has taken place - notably, the Durbok road on the Indian side, permanent barracks on the Chinese side - has taken place within the area of control claimed by either side, and nowhere near the mutual claim zone.

There is a set of members who have nothing to do but try to fan the flames whenever there is a disagreement between China and India, as a diversion from fanning the flames between Pakistan and India. How much attention should be paid to this set is a matter that we must each decide for ourselves, but I make this reluctant post because of the sheer impotent hate that is on display.

India will be f&***d very badly by China in coming days unless Narendra Modi and his concubine, Smirti Irani travel to China, get down on their knees, and give "favours" to half of Chinese cabinet, and military.
