Abbas: If stalemate continues after elections, Netanyahu can take back the keys to the West Bank​

RAMALLAH - If diplomatic stagnation continues after the Israeli election and construction in the settlements doesn't stop, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will dismantle the PA and return responsibility for the West Bank to the Israeli government, he told Haaretz in an interview on Thursday.

Abbas also claimed that since the PA achieved nonmember state with observer status at the United Nations last month, Israel has reduced its security cooperation with the PA in the West Bank.


"If there is no progress even after the election I will take the phone and call [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu," Abbas said. "I'll tell him, 'my dear friend, Mr. Netanyahu, I am inviting you to the Muqata [the PA presidential headquarters in Ramallah]. Sit in the chair here instead of me take the keys, and you will be responsible for the Palestinian Authority."

"Once the new government in Israel is in place, Netanyahu will have to decide -- yes or no," Abbas said.


The interview with Abbas took place after he held a meeting in the Muqata with Meretz chairman MK Zahava Gal-On in the run-up to the January 22 election.


During the election campaign, other parties, most notably the Likud and Labor, have been playing down the Palestinian issue as much as possible.

So sad, but why aren't Palestinians united? They keep fighting for power among themselves.

And thus Palestine can return to Mandate law status: Jews permitted to settle everywhere as long as the civil and property rights of the Arabs are respected, without the need to include Arabs in those areas in a sovereign state of their own or as part of Israel itself. They like the statu quo, everybody found it's account. As far as I can see, and this my own opinion, that Palestinien will neber have a state in the land they claim, they west bankers will be moved to Jordan and that will be the new state of Palestine and Gaza will be fused with Egypt. Palestiniens lost to have a state of their own [no matter how small it was] during the Clinton era. But Arafat screw it up and his arrogance got his best friend Ariel Sharon elected. That day he signed the death of a Palestinian state.

from the start two country solution was a failed solution , it always failed to answer critical questions like the right of return for exiled Palestinians or what happens to them if they are not to come back . it fail to answer were would be the borders and how the natural resources and more importantly water would be divided.
it fail to answer what happen to Arab Israelis or Jew Palestinian and what would be their legal status , it also fail to resolve the security issue and it fail to answer a practical Palestinian army and also it fail to answer how a country that is divided to two part can function properly . and many other questions.

The Palestinians banked the idea that demographics will be in their favor and compained on the idea of a single state where Israelis and Palestiniens could cohabit peacefully as in South Africa for example. The same Idea is still fostering in the mind of the slug Mahmoud Abbas by offering the Israelis to take the west bank. Real politick dictate that a Palestinian state is as real as the 70 houris that our fierce bearded one expect in their god sent jihad when they get obliterated.

The only disagreement between the Arab factions is which way best to destroy Israel with; Military or diplomatic. There are no peaceful Arabs in the West Bank or Gaza.
Those Arabs will meet their untimely end, of course. And puppets who love the luxuries of life will accept these terms, i`m certain.

THey are no peaceful Israelis either! Your insecurity is created by Israel and Only Israel... Israel is used like their neighbour arab state to do the biding of the west. Imagine where the west will be with Israel savoir faire and Arabs money?

Don't your like enjoy saying that Israel controls the US foreign policy? So choose: Either Israel controls the US or the US controls Israel. You can't have it both ways.
