Fact is, Indians who according to you are “more targeted” are not going around calling themselves Pakistani to avoid being targeted.
Should tell you a lot about the value of the Pakistani brand. Even the apparently hated lot feel rather comfortable in their own skin than be branded a Pakistani!

On the other hand, we have a Reuters report clearly stating how Pakistanis use the indian brand to actually elevate their own and to prevent getting a hiding from the racist bunch in the US.
