Due to my love and passion for firearms, I got myself into shooting as a sport. it is army owned and administered range and only army personnel are allowed.
Firearms and Ammunition is our own and licensed, and only use the facility and the target stands of the Army.
Spotted something interesting so thought about sharing with you guys. These guys were practicing for a competition. I was happy to see their gear. They had some more gear on them I decided not take pictures due to security reasons.

Note to the mods: : if the post or the pictures are in voilation of secrecy or pirvacy rules of Pakistan Army or Forum , please feel free to remove them

this guy bought himself the aim point sight and was fitting it. it still had to be zeroed though

Meh...nothing too extraordinary.

BTW, where is Pasban shooting range?

And any other pics? I can't imagine any more equipment that is top secret!!!

Was that scope actually useful - it's position is interesting

That is a Red *** sight... (is that Chinese or AimPoint?).

THe one on the side is a torchlight if I am not wrong.

Actually it is Acog 4x, used by US forces, brand name was Trijicon, yes the position is interesting, helps to get target in sight very quickly

Nothing too secretive, It was just the normal gear you see QRF people carrying, If you live in a proper cantt area then you know what i mean.
No the sight is not chineese it was american made 4x acog by trigicon. The Range is called "Pasban Range" comes under 111 brigade, it is next to dog center in westridge.

I will try to take some interesting pictures when I visit next week. they had G-3 with scope and bipod too.
I asked them if these were being modified by P.O.F, but the answer was no, it is upto the Unit if they want these upgrades and these are bought by collecting funds from the solider

So the Trijicon sight can be used for 7.62x39? As far as I knew it was meant for 5.56/7.62 NATO, please do correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah...there was a video posted sometime ago that featured the G-3 with bipod and picattiny rail and scope.

I have great love and passion for firearms in general and firearm tactics and competitive shooting in particular.

I often visit the pasban complex. It consists of many ranges of varying sizes. You get a range on first to get to the range first to use it basis. Its for army personnel only ofcourse.

My reason for visiting the range is handgun and carbine tactics and precision shooting training. Primary weapon used is an M4(5.56x45mm NATO) and the secondary weapon is a Glock19(9x19mm).

What weapons and ammo are you using?

I would love to see the targets from your sessions.

All
I have some good pictures of the ranges. I would have posted pictures but can't due to low number of posts. Have been a silent member, so will do once I reach the required number of posts.

nice.

I mean no offence, just a friendly advice, I can't see your stance but you need to work on your grip. All four fingers of your support hand should be under the trigger guard with the index finger pressed hard underneath it.

Thank you so much for posting these, I can't believe I missed this post. Someone asked why is the scope positioned where it was, there are several reasons for this but the main one being that when the original AK47 design was developed there was no need for scope mounting on battle rifles. This changed near the end of the cold war and the introduction of the M4 platform.

That said it is very difficult to mount any sight system on the traditional 56/47 platform, one of the frustrations is the position and height of the rear sight along with lack of real-estate to secure a suitable after market mounting platform.

Most commonly outside Pakistan, armies utilize a side mounted rail system to solve this problem:

[Generic after market side mounted rail system]
However this makes the weapon incredible heavy and unevenly balanced for CQB, which is where the AK47 variants truly shine. The KERBS rail is very good at bridging the gap however due to its reliance on the weaver rail vs the picatinny, some after market scope mounts don't adjust well and require spacers.

Pakistan has done really well because they have identified the exact requirement for their battle rifle and adopted a forward mounted picatinny rail system which allows attachment of most modern rail mounted accessories including flashlights and fore grips.

The reason for the ACOG sight placement is therefore limited by the availability of the rail position and the application for which it is being used.

The red dot is designed to be looked through and not directly AT (This is a common mistake made by amateur shooters since they incorrectly consider the red-dot a scope) as such to avoid the troubles of anti-magnetism and incorrect sight picture alignment, especially in a CQB role you want to keep the red dot as forward placed as possible for rapid target acquisition:

This video explains perfectly what I am trying to say when it comes to using red dot sights:
