Canadian Vietnamese will go online and start dissing Chinese. In their private life when asked what group they belong to, most will lie and say "I am Chinese--------------------------from Vietnam. My great, great grandfather was Chinese, so I am too..."
I had a Viet friend with last name Tran. Totally Viet. Speaks Vietnamese only, not Chinese. Parents are both Vietnamese, but when asked he say he is Chinese.

Actually . CCP kept fighting Japan army even when CCP army was very weak from the North east of China to the southern provinces. He withdraw its central troops to the southwest of China and used irregular troops to fight Japan army.He never had a will to fight Japan until no way out , such as battle of Changsha , battle of Songhu, battle of xuzhou. Some won , some failed.His elite troops were almost intact when WW2 was over.

Just like without Japan invading China and weakening the KMT and giving space/room for the communists to regroup/arm up and recruit hundreds of thousands/volunteers from countryside, the CCP would have never lived to ruled China today.

The invading did help CCP a lot .
But KMT was too incapable . KMT had more than 5 millions troops before WW2.

CCP was so so so weak but KMT still could not finish CCP.

Without WW2, CCP will won but needs longer time.

Uhm, Tran and Nguyen are the 2 most popular family names in VN, but they are not VN exclusive. I believe there are people with that name all around East Asia. Saying "my last name is Tran" instantly equal to "I'm VNese" is a bit racist, like the case with Hans-Germany or Smith-America.

SU collapsed because they spent too much money in Vietnam/Cam/Africa/Afg . It had nothing to do with the nuclear weapon.

That is something many Americans don't understand. Yahoo commenters tend to lean on the conservative side of the American politics. Many haven't forget their some 5 figures of death tolls in compare to the 7 figures of Vietnamese death toll. Some felt that Vietnam and the Philippines are just a burden to the USA. And that with the USA's back, those 2 wouldn't come to the table to negotiate with China.

Those are of course very stupid opinions. I can't speak for the Philippines. But Vietnam had always been walking between a thin line. They never felt comfortable enough to "initiate" escalation with China because of the USA. And of course, the USA is playing their own game. They coming to this willingly so they have much to gain.

But in fairness, many of these commenters are also in favor of it because China is view in a much more negative light. With all these folks running for the presidency. People that say they will be tough on China (in 2012 and now) tend to have a slight bump in their rating for a while.

Like I said before. You got to experience the product before you make a statement about it. Huawei Honor 6 plus is not a good phone. The company that makes the chipset is way too new to the industry to be competing against Samsung, Apple, Intel, Nvidia, Snapdragon, etc. Anyone can make a phone look nice and appealing on the outside but when you analyze the internal components, they are garbage. It is true with Android OS as well.

Vietnam was only behind because of the Vietnam War. If the South did took over the North, Vietnam would be much more advance than it is today. Thank you very much.

Hehe, My last smartphone is Huawei G525(Before this, Is Nokia C6), I want a bigger screen, I have replaced it with Huawei 4X, my wife is using Honor 6 plus, all work well, Only god know how you "bought" a garbage with ripped off price.

And, tell you more, in my little small department, 5 of 8 is huawei smartphone, one is lenovo, one is xiaomi, another is Iphone, my direct superior had using Huawei G7, but he lost it, now he buy new, also Huawei smartphone, the chief inspector of department, he is using Huawei, I don't know what type, after Huawei Mate 7 entering into market, he bought one to his son(And, rumor said the salary of the chief inspector is highest in the company). the general manager of biggest business division is using Huawei big screen smartphone X2(If he not buy new one), around me, more colleague also are using Huawei smartphone, also will choose replace it with another Huawei or other China brand smartphone.

And talking about Huawei, the company, I know more than you, I directly contact with them, also have chance enter into its factory, and communicate with its engineer, I can tell you, In 20 years, Vietnam can't produce a company that can match with Huawei, this is my word.
