A Strange Case of Doppelgangers: Hitler and Gandhi in India

Sir,
Operation blue star,Ahmadabad massacre ,demolishing Babri mosque are one of the most eye opening and heart breaking sad events I remember.
We are not asleep,we are more alert then ever.I am not saying however, that all Indians want extremism, but if such people will get chance to lead India, then it will end up leading to nuclear war.
Pakistan on the other hand also consist of such extremist mindsets. However,we will not allow such mindsets to rise, because we want peace in this region.I am sure that our Indian friends also think in the sane way as I do.
Regards

Are you certain no such mindset ever rose to power in Pakistan? Without such mindsets being allowed to 'rise' in Pakistan, we've had to endure 1947-48 invasion of Tribals, The Rann of Kutch skirmish, Operation Gibraltar, Operation Grand-Slam, the 1971 invasion, operation Kargil. All of these operations, without a shred of military logic or due thought process, were supposedly towards 'peace', weren't they?

I wonder what horrors your 'extremist' mindsets could cause what your 'peacemakers' didn't. Hell they were willing to go risk nuclear war for a few frozen peaks.

If the subcontinent is pushed to war in the future, it will either be on the back of an NBC terror attack on India, by humans originally from Pakistan, or a result of an invasion by the PA or its proxies.

I got my hands on a pirated paperback version once jst to see for myself what the fuss was all about.

I must admit I labored through the initial bit, found it very slow and laborious going, and gave up trying to finish it.

IT is one of the WORST edited books in the history of books. Only the bible is worse than that :P

Bhai, the first massacre that took place at mind boggling scale was during the annexation of Hyderabad state. An estimated 40,000 (some scholars talk about ~200,000) Muslims were murdered in cold blood by the Indian military. Mind you it was 1948 but Hindutvadi fascism was still there. I think there is a thread on the Hyderabad massacre and slowly the details of the heinous crimes committed by the Indian army are surfacing. We talk about Gujarat that resulted in some 3000 murders and countless rapes and other crimes against the humanity for it is relatively fresh an episode but Muslims have been murdered in cold blood and in greater numbers during the entire history of post-47 India.

You are right, we do have fanatics on our side too but we never elect them as law makers and bring into power and this distinguishes us from our neighbors.
.....added to that Kashmir tragedy:Gulab Singh scenario.Initially Mr.Jinnah was part of congress. He himself wanted to stay together but under such circumstances he had to make such painful decision.
I tell you, being Hindu or Muslim was not a problem.Clash b/w two ideologies arose due to this filthy extremism.Extremism is mother of all problems. Some painful decision, either you call it for survival or freedom but whatsoever was the cause it meant blessing for us.Pakistan is the greatest gift we have achieved. We have payed huge price but we are at least able today to live freely. No matter what we do or face,we know that we have control in here,we will inshallah manage it on our own:)

People are still looking to soothe their insecurities after 70 years? I do not want to go down the rout of discussing events in history like why moppila riots or why destroy our holiest temples (akin to your macca madina) or why racist oppressive taxes against local hindus or why ban construction or repair of hindu temples in the land of hindus because i do not suffer from insecurities like some of these title holders who pretend to be some kind of saints victimised by the evil hindu :)

But they themselves have killed more muslims in east and west pakistan put together and that bloodshed is ongoing as we speak than in india.

In the meantime, happy trawling the blogsphere for more ideological burnol.

Oh no sir,oh no
I am not saying that such powers were not suppressed since beginning. What I am saying is that Inshallah we will not let such mindsets rise.Problem is that both sides are affected with extremism. Both India and Pakistan took terrible steps because of this extremism. That is why we can see operation deep strike,Sven sisters, rehber from Indian side as well or 1965 war(no matter what were the consequences, the reason was madness, extremism, insecurity from both sides )
you cannot clap by one hand. Two hands are required. We are equally responsible of all past wars took place-equally.

There is an excerpt you might find interesting to read:

Slavoj Žižek, while delivering a lecture at Institute for sociology and philosophy, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, explains how SS head Heinrich Himmler used The Bhagavad Gita’s meanings to justify killings, without any moral remorse. “You need this type of a vision to enable you to do the horrors”, Zizek says. The Nazi soldiers carried out genocides, killed women and children, and committed unimaginable horrors, the problem was – how to enable the soldiers to do this ‘without becoming beasts’. In Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna has doubts while in the battlefield – ‘Do I have the right? thousands will die’, and Lord Krishna convinces him of the legitimacy of the violence he was to inflict. He explains how material realities are just appearances, true reality is the reality of your self (aatma) – “What you can destroy ‘deserves to perish’. Don’t get involved”. Zizek sees this as a good totalitarian propaganda when it’s difficult to carry out such violence. Himmler’s argument to convince soldiers suffering from pangs of conscience and ethical doubt was that - ‘most people could do great things for the country, even lay down their lives, but a true hero is the one who is ready to lose his soul for the country, to do horrible things for it. The true greatness is to elevate yourself above this temptation of ‘ordinary humanity’, true ethical greatness is when for a higher cause, you are ready to act beyond good and evil’.

It is all too relatable in the present context as we see a renewed popularity in totalitarian and fascist worldviews, be it in the form of Hindutva or Islamic fundamentalism (Islamic State et al) etc.

Lord Krishna's Gita Saar As Nazi Justification For Killing 6Mn Jews, Slavoj Žižek Explains

It is interesting to see that certain scholars have already started to compare Hindutva with Islamic fundamentalism seen with ISIS. No wonder Obama had to give a lecture to his guests on their mistreatment of minorities.

I thought religious discussion was not allowed here??????? In no time there will be a reply to this with experts from other holy books, followed by negative ratings and infractions and ban.......

I called out the so called think tank who was mocking the religious practices of hindus and asked if he was ok to listen to my view of islam on another thread. No reply. The first sign of an islamist is a lack of intellectual integrity and moral courage. We can only laugh at such cowardice. Certainly looking at the state of their nation, there must be some quality issues too right, and not just the evil designs of us bad bad hindus?

@Slav Defence @syedali73

Though Hitler's book may be popular in India but that does nothing to tarnish India's image

There are two ironies here

1 India and Israel are very good friends inspite of this book

2 India is NOT looked as an extremism infested or fundamentalist nation
It is Pakistan which is a concern for the world not India

Because of lack of education, myths and sheer ignorance...

Frightening to see how "much" people actually know about one of the sickest ideologies in the world...

Now some genius will tell me how Hitler cut unemployment, that he was a military genius and other BS.

Do you know who this man is ? They called him Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The man who become the President of the Congress Party, by replacing GANDHI ji.

You do realize that Netaji was socialist ? His first destination after fleeing India was the USSR... but was refused for several reasons.

So Germany became his temporary destination.. and after the Operation Barbarossa started (Which BTW deeply shocked him!) he obviously had to throw away his plans of friendship with the soviets.

Hitler and the other lunatics like Himmler were only his means to an end and he eventually realized the true face of the Nazis after some time.

It was extremely naive from him to believe that the Nazis would have left him alone if they had marched into India.

Hitler was quite literally "the Hand of God".

Hitler had as much role to play in India getting her freedom as Gandhi. Though we do not acknowledge it yet for want of political correctness. (translate as white christian @ss kissing)

Hitler ENSURED that 2/3rd of the World GOT FREE FROM BRITISH and FRENCH and SPANISH and DUTCH Rule.

He was the reason 2/3 of the world got free from White christian rule. ....... and somewhere in our collective wisdom, Indians know this.

It is better you learn some world history before certifying others about the extend of their knowledge.

So what if Netaji was a socialist ? He was the head of the congress which was socialist.

How is this relevant ? How is speculation of a Nazi victory relevant ? What is relevant is what it did for Indian pride, Indian freedom. It inspired the Naval mutiny of Mumbai. It got India our freedom.

Hitler was quite literally "the Hand of God".

Get your facts right genius:

While its true that the Second World War accelerated the independence process in many colonies, it was not the reason for it.

The whole independence process without nationalism would have been unthinkable.
And ationalism and the decline of profits in maintaining colonies was well underway before WW2 started.

And Hitler had nothing to do with it.

LOL. And yet immediately after WW2, 2/3rd of the world became free of White christian rule and oppression. :cheesy:

And BTW ......... they did not "maintain" the colonies you Fool, WE maintained them. With our sweat and blood.
