A sole international market for China's J-10 fighter jets is taking shape

Everyone, please refer to the country and its citizens with proper name and manner. Please do not degrade the forum and respect others even if its your enemy.
Thank You!

On-Topic:

I would myself go for Western option anytime. The quality is second to none. Sadly, finance realizations always limits the prospect...atleast for PAF.
But, TBH, J-10C is itself a beast. I can assure that it won't disappoint anyone.
On, JF-17, I won't speak as my views will always be biased. And, Myanmar has got them, so the prospect are even more bleak not that PM Hasina being in power already stalled any hopes of it getting in BAF inventory.
Lastly, no offense but please just purchase your fighter jets. The long wait is frustrating.
I agree with you. But china is rapidly going out of equation for BD. It is no shade on their jets be it the JF or JC10. Quite simply an antagonist china is something we can not rely on.

India is hedgemonistic but we can deal with them. When all said and done BD and india can talk and come to an understanding.

The burmese on the other hand is not. They are savages in the correct meaning of the term. They have a genocidal policy towards all their minorities and have been at war between themselves since their independence.

Against them we need stong offensive capacity and now only western would do.

A war is something BD will seek to avoid but in near future i do not see how a confrontation is avoidable. An accommodation vis-a-vis rohingya will have to be imposed by BD.

BD is playing the long game, a peaceful accomodation wont be possible however hard BD tries.

Regarding Hasina anti pak rhetoric is for internal consumtion only. As with all BD politicians reality always wins out. If BAF wanted the JF they would have had it. The theory was to go for a russian chinese mix. That is no longer possible.

It will be western jets that will come to BD to shore up against the burmese murderous regime. I do not expect BAF to have the numbers anymore as i am expecting now a small western fleet with F7s and the migs playing a supporting role as long as they can.

I hope 2 sqd max of western jets in coming days.....after that not much for a long time.

BD will have to live with about 4.5 sqd of fronline fighters thats it for a long time.

No 85 million is the flyaway cost per plane. You are confusing with Typhoon probably.
It is also very cheap to operate and maintain and so BD can afford 1-2 squadrons over the next 5 years.
Also BD defence spending is growing very fast - just 10 years ago it was only 1-1.5 billion.
Not 10 years ago we were at 5Billion.......
And no I m pretty sure i am not confusing it with Typhoon.

Yes you are dude. Please Google the unit price of Gripen E as regards Brazil order.
So Pakistan defence spending increases twice and BD increases 3-4 times in 10 years. We see the difference there.
Best thing about Gripen E is that once you pay for the aircraft and munitions, it is very cheap to operate - perfect for BAF.

Yes agreed.

Also, it looks like BAF is getting an additional batch of C-130J from RAF.

Any word on how many beyond the original 2?
4 more being discussed and Marshall signed a deal with BAF for support of the entire j series fleet so yes there’s some weight to it

Thank you for honoring me as your friend

This is why Gripen doesn’t seem like a bad option at all for force multiplier

So I really haggled my friend at BAF with this issue & he reluctantly admitted the timeline for the first strike squadron were always 2021.

So till then we will have to be happy with just trainers!!!

WTF!!!

To place an order or receive delivery?

Either way it is indicative of BAF mismanagement and lack of vision.

How long does it take to train a pilot? What was the point in ordering so many yaks?

BAF in its current state is just a drain on resources. They do not add anything to BD defense.

Plot twist. He reluctantly admitted a lie just to stop you bother him and fighters won’t be coming even after 2021 xP

Not just the 16 Yaks but maybe 32 K-8Ws as well.

Arthur was talking about actual bona fide fighter jets rather then trainer with some duel use capabilities.

If we order now depending on what it is 2021 delivery is entirely feasible.

I don't know about 32 K 8! Last time I checked, it was just 7-9 more to replace the L 39's!!

Delivery. But I don't think that's possible anymore. If they wanted a delivery by 2021 they needed to allocate fund in fiscal 19-20. But AFAIK there is no budget allocation for this. If they placed a order by early '20, delivery by late '21 was entirely possible

We still don't have all the details. BAF too busy sweeping failure under the rug.
