State Crimes Branch has started investigation against the bus driver on the allegations of insult, xenophobia and personal injury.

A racist German bus driver who works for Berlin Mass Transportation Authority BVG insulted a woman of Turkish origin Ülker A. (51) and hit her 20 years old daughter Berivan.

According to a statement of Berlin Police Department a 51 years old Turkish woman boarded bus number 123 with her 12 years old son and 20 years old daughter and stood on foot because of crowding in the bus. The German driver verbally insulted her and yelled xenophobic slurs at the Turkish woman at bus stop named as Köttgenstrasse".

The woman’s daughter asked the driver not to insult her mother and while the family was getting off the bus the bus driver hit her and she was hurt when she hit a pole under the effect of driver’s smacking. The son of Turkish woman got off the bus however the driver shut the door and the Turkish woman and her daughter remained in the bus. Meanwhile hair of woman’s daughter got stuck in the bus door.

The driver stopped the bus on the insistence of other passengers and the Turkish woman and her daughter went to police station to file a complaint against the bus driver.

The bus driver was taken to police station for a blood test and released after necessary paperwork.

State Crimes Branch has started investigation against the bus driver on the allegations of insult, xenophobia and personal injury.

BVG Press Spokesperson Petra Reetz said that the bus driver might be fired if the things told by the witnesses are proved to be true.
