A question to Pakistani posters. Are you proud of Pak alliance wit China?

According to latest BBC world opinion poll -

33% Chinese are positive on Pakistan and 40% have negative views on Pakistan.

77% Pakistanis are positive on China and 7% are negative.

So to answer the question, YES! Pakistanis are very proud, they are a proud nation and love anyone who treats them equally, partucularly somone with whom they share religion, race, language, food, music, sports, culture, ideology, dressing, fashion, etc etc... like China.

They need the Chinese to protect them from the Indians. Gradually China will start bombing them with drones because of "uyghur terrorist" hiding in Pakistan, and Chinese intelligence will start murdering Pakistani civilians. Anti Chinese sentiment will rise in Pakistan but the alliance will remain. Pakistan should stop relying on others for protection!

Our relations with China can't be compared at all to Pak-US relations. China has helped us to stand on our own feet rather than throw money at our corrupt politicians as the Western countries have been doing with the so called "aid" they have been giving us.

I was talking in reference to US aid which we weren't receiving in the 90's.

And what aid did you give us? Besides that oil which we had to pay back for anyways and therefore it cannot be considered aid, what did you give us?

Do you realise that both countries are literally one step away from solving their disputes?
India owns part of Tibet, called Arunachal Pradesh, which would technically belong to Tibet, which is part of China.
China owns part of Kashmir, called Aksai Chin, and while Pakistan relinquished it's claim on it, India claims it part of Kashmir, and technically it does belong to Kashmir, which then belongs to Pakistan or India depending on which angle you look at it from.

All they need to do is: either exchange those territories or recognise them part of each other. Simple.

Anyway, sorry if you hate logic; but that's how things are pretty much. I'm off.

Neither China nor India will agree to lose an inch of their territory. This is a fact. They will never resolve their disputes and they will be enemies forever. China flew planes over Ladakh and wrote China on rocks few years ago that gave indian army nightmares. Also China sees Arunachal Pradesh as South Tibet. india always brings tibet up which angers China.

As for Aksai Chin, better to have that barren land under Chinese control than under indian control. Pakistan can't afford to have a powerful enemy. China is the most powerful Asian country. Pakistan needs China more than China needs Pakistan.

I wonder if Pakistani posters are still proud of Pakistan's alliance with China, and China as an ally after having learned about China and the Chinese ways in detail from this forum.

So is Pakstani-Chinese alliance a pride and the jewel of Pakistan, or a just partnership of inconvenience in a desperate time that Pakistan would be happy to ditch if things got better for Pakistan?

China is a country with which we Pakistanis have had excellent relations for last six Decades. CHINA is a GIANT amongst comity of Nations. We love China because they watch our backs and we watch theirs and that is why they are our Strategic Partners. We appreciate everything they have done for Pakistan and we only hope that we can be as good a friend to them as they have been to us. Thank you China.

Well think of it this way : When China was anything but a superpower in the 50s, the 60s, the 70s or even the 80s and they had little or nothing to offer to Pakistan...! We supported them then because our usually idiotic leaders realized that the strength of character of the Chinese People would one day see them rising as one of the Greatest Nations of the World and hence why Bhutto so vociferously argued in the United Nations for Taiwan's seat be given to the rightful representatives of the Chinese nation - the PRC ! Pakistan again had the brains to introduce China to the rest of the world including the Muslim world when China was in isolation in the '70s and even facilitated Nixon's visit to China to try to bring China back into the mainstream. The Chinese never forgot that ! So when Pakistan needed China's help whether it was the '71 War, the '98 Nuclear Explosion, the ill-fated and ill-conceived Kargil debacle, the OBL raid of last year and numerous untold and unwritten stories that only diplomats and military personnel talk about - China was there for us when no one else was ! The Chinese have reciprocated our good gestures of the early days of China manifold by being there for Pakistan when we needed a friend the most....! And yes...they have our unqualified support to root out the poison of extremism from their Xinjiang province, the same poison that the unfortunate handling of the aftermath of the Afghan Jihad (by all parties) has plunged Pakistan into today's situation !

And so by God Yes ! I'm proud of Pak-China friendship !

P.S If anyone thinks that Pakistan is trying to pull off the same thing over China that Pakistan allegedly did with the United States...try listening to Michael Scheur - the CIA agent who, formerly, led the hunt team for OBL !

The Chinese poll results can be attributed to the influx of Western media propaganda which portrays Pakistan as some kind of terrorist haven. But politically-informed Chinese are very pro-Pakistan, they know it's an important ally, and they know that China is also a propaganda scapegoat in the Western media.
