Tehran has begun sending food supplies and medical aid to Lebanon, with senior Iranian officials voicing readiness to provide all sorts of humanitarian assistance to Beirut, which is reeling from a massive explosion.

Iran’s Red Crescent Society (IRCS) spokesman Mohammad Nasiri announced Wednesday that 2,000 food packages, weighing nine tonnes, are set to be sent to Lebanon along with medicine and medical equipment.

The first consignment of Iranian aid supplies arrived in Beirut hours after the tragedy on Tuesday. Two more shipments are expected for delivery later on Wednesday.

Nasiri further said a 22-member medical team, including general practitioners, orthopedists, anesthesiologists, operating room specialists, pediatricians, neurologists, nurses and field hospital experts, will be dispatched to Lebanon later on Wednesday.

The Iranian team will also set up a Rapid Deployment Hospital (RHD) in Beirut, he added.

Lebanon made the critical error of inviting the PLO into the country. The palestinians promptly started to take over parts of the country, setting up roadblocks and using Lebanon as a launch pad for attacks against Israel.

Let's not forget Lebanon has been in a state of war with Israel at their own choosing. They decided to declare war.

Lebanon's problems have always been poor decision making which started with declaring war on Israel, exacerbated greatly when they invited the PLO and sealed their fate when Iran hijacked the country and installed their own private militia which works directly in Tehran's interests.

All this has divided Lebanon on ethnic lines.

Meanwhile, Israel is ahead of every country in the region in science, tech, medicine and human development.
