A political solution for Kashmir and lasting peace for India and Pakistan

It's for all, plenty of them are on this side of the border too.

indian Muslims are not Pakistanis......... They are the same as you bar religion.

One little brown man cannot be racist against another little brown man.

Does that include the brown little men who fantasize about being Persians........

PS Being Brown doesn't make you the same race. If that were the case then South Americans, Arabs, a lot of Israelis, Persians, Pakistanis, some Southern Europeans and indians are all racially the same.......:disagree:

Im reminded of the last scene of Kingdom of Heaven.

When my Kurdish cousin is asked, what does Jerusalem mean.

He says, nothing. And walks away.

Then stops, turns around, and gestures ... everything.

Kashmir symbolises that fir us.

We will NEVER buckle to the Muslim angle of ownership of our land.

That is the core essence of Partition.

The ideologies of the two nation states.

On a broader level it's that but at a core level it's the last 1000 years.

Supremacist views coming from India say otherwise.

Thats surely not racism.

Why not give our people good standard of living rather than foolishly engaging with foolish people and ideas?

Thats like asking why not give up your Indian Passport and citizenship for a chance at permanent residency and citizenship of Canada.

Though it is totally up to Kashmiris what rights they should get in both countries, I will like to mention that there are many other Indian states where people from mainland Indian States cannot be permanent residents despite that those states were directly inherited from British Raj while Kashmir was explicitly promised these special rights regarding her residents when it was annexed.

This definition of domiciliary status was already part of the Kashmiri legal system, part of the Ranbir Code, at the time of independence. It was, ironically, originally designed to protect the status and long-term prospects of Dogra and Pandit jagirdars, as it was feared that prosperous and acquisitive Punjabis would flood in, buy out the land-holders and displace that entire class of loyal citizens.

After independence, it became an analogue of the other Indian states that do not allow non-residents to acquire property. This includes Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya; perhaps also Mizoram and Nagaland. It used to be implemented with some care in the present Chhatisgarh, but non-tribals flooded in, corrupted the original land-holders, or the tribals who were allowed to buy and sell real estate, and converted the state into a colony for the non-tribals. The people of Jharkhand are exercised about the process as far as it has gone, and are resisting it.

Most members here have little or no knowledge of Indian administered J&K, but are armchair pundits. The fact is that the political class, including the Hurriyet leadership, has invested heavily in real estate in Jammu, and there are a number of housing development projects going on that are known to be Muslims only. Since BJP politicians are among those involved, this extremely divisive trend has gained some strength, that makes the problem more complex.

May be both Kashmiris should have some intelligent criteria of allowing people to become permanent residents when they invest for example in Tourism, special agriculture and have some other skills in a way that it contributes to economic prosperity and businesses in Kashmir. People who have Kashmir domicile might have to be allowed freely across both sides. For first few years probably some terrorism concerns might have to be addressed when allowing free movement. Kashmiri local governments could give very generous incentives to people who want to invest in tourism, agriculture and other industry. Of course every Indian and Pakistani could perfectly freely go and even live in their part of Kashmir permanently without being a formal permanent resident.

You mean as tenants. That is in line with practice in other states that restrict non-residential ownership of real estate.

Kashmiris can also ask both governments for special development plans to build great infrastructure, roads, schools and so many other related things. Kashmir is the most beautiful part of the world and it has extreme potential to develop and become even richer than other Indian and Pakistani provinces if they can have peace and leverage their special advantages and work out great terms of peace with both countries.

How do you eliminate corruption? Enormous sums of money have been lavished on Indian administered J&K, and most of the money has been pocketed by (in alphabetic order): BJP, Hurriyet, INC, NC, PDP. Every time I visit, I am showed a plush new construction, owned, it is said with voices hushed with reverence and envy of the owners' good fortune, by XYZ leader.

Not at all.

But I can choose to live on my own land as well as give my people a better life.

I don't need to leave my land to do that.

Now transfer that to what you asked.
So, Hindus can dominate (or even direct fight) Muslims and still become economically well-off?
