A Parting Gift to all North Indians and Western Indians

Ya he couldn't accept what he was and he started abusing you. That was his style. Throw names abuse others. He gave others labels like Sanghis or bhakts but if someone called him intellectulal or communists or left leaning he used to fly off the handle and resort to insults.

See? You are still taking things personally........! The day you get over it, and forget Don Corleone's dictum, you will do much better. I suggest you keep your attacks now to yourself. Only if you had had an insight to what he was upto here. @Oscar @Arsalan @WAJsal have a pretty good idea and perhaps I had the pleasure of being told by him of his aim in posting here.

I told you earlier also, he has labelled me a bhakt once, expressed his derision for my 'rightist' views at times, but his only one contention was that base yourself on facts and not on blind following.

The background I have given you about his interaction with me as above, and yet as @Stephen Cohen earlier labelled it a 'friendship', will give you an insight to how he took things. It was based on mutual respect. I have not met the man ever.

And he hated the left too. He appreciated only on merit. Generally hated everyone else as @Oscar rightly pointed out, and I translate his subtleness here, 'subcontinental masses revel in idiocy'.

Thanks.

Communism died worldwide in 1991 (the collapse of the Soviet Union) whereas China renounced it back in 1978 (Deng Xiaoping's economic reforms).

That's several decades ago already. Indian Communists are stuck in a time warp, the only thing they can do is sit in the jungle and blow up random vehicles every once in a while.

That is what you deduce. After a logical analysis.

Who will make stupids understand that?

Saying that Joe cornered and spanked you for being rightists is self-flattery for the bigoted imbeciles that you people really are. Not even once did I see him challenge (in a manner that you were so wary of) a member who didn't fit the definition mentioned in Oscar's post, be they Pakistani or Indian.

They can't be that smart, if they are followers of an ideology that failed catastrophically for half a century and then died in 1991.
communists are the least corrupt group of people in india... and many are intelligent... they tend to be idealist/humanist... just that their economic policies are disastrous... but still we need them in india... as a counterbalance to right wing parties.

Many consider him to be an "articulate" poster just because he used flowery language.

But I consider that it is his failure if in 12000+ posts he could not make his aim for posting here clear

Soumitra

That is because you looked at it in a narrow spectrum. You and @Stephen Cohen look at things too narrowly. I hinted at it earlier also.

You resent being labelled a bhakt? Why? And if you don't, why do you react? I told you yesterday also. He defended India vehemently where it was required and he 'criticised' where required.

The problem with you is that you looked only for 100% subservience.

Did you read his post when Modi raised Baluchistan-P0K? He categorically stated that the Pakistani Politicians are to be blamed as they misread and pushed the present government too far, thinking that the initial steps in the two years were a sign of weakness (or something thereabouts).

What do you think was that about?

Anyways, stop berating him, that is my point. Have watched you post after post berate him as a person with bruised ego.

@Stephen Cohen The same goes for you. Recall my post to you about your geo-strategic analysis being perhaps better than mine? Well, it was a sarcastic remark. You know nothing!

For his own good I hope the man does some introspection before he returns...again.

And this thread should be moved to members club.

. . . . . .
If that was all so, Id not be discussing business ideas with some good friends there whose business are crumbling, not have them telling me that they need to leave Kashmir to find better opportunities which are few and far in between, and at least right now be able to talk to them and find out how they are; instead of wondering when will i hear of their picture splattered across some Indian paper as terrorists whilst the most harm they could ever think of for India was suggesting that Dhoni be given greater freedom in captaincy.

Self inflicted wounds. Protesters are responsible for curfew which are causing immense loss to local businesses.

it was preferable to the daily disgrace they were now suffering at the hands of the Indian authorities.
Like? This was the 1960s, mind you. :)

He has left the forum it seems
Oh, ok. Bonne chance.

majority of inidans here are right wing nationalists
Not true. Pro Sangh does not mean being right wing. Most of our economic preferences are centrist - we want some regulations and some free market - most of us. Also the vast majority are happy with real secularism in this country. We don't aim to have a Hindu majoritarian republic with Manu Smriti as the Constitution. We are NOT right wing folks. We are just Hindus. Pretty Centrist actually. We should not push us voluntarily to the Right. That allows the regressive Left to open up an attack.

You wont understand the history of BAD blood between Indian Leftists and Rightists
Most Indian 'Right'ists are actually Indian non Leftists. There is nothing Right wing about RSS for example. Their social and economic program is entirely socialist (swadeshi and all) and their religious program stops short of political implementation. Even the RSS mentions that true secularism is to be followed!

Sorry for wrong terminology
