Positive note about India: Having been to both India and Pakistan, I can state with a fair degree of confidence that Pakistan is atleast 10-15 years behind India.
Negative note about India: All this glitter is only for the rich/well employed. A common Indian cannot afford all this. A foreign returned Indian, an IT professional, yea they can afford.
A very sensible post, but the highlighted part isn't.
You see our malls?
Kolkata,Delhi,NCR,Mumbai,Chennai,Ahmedabad,etc etc.
How do the big enterprises get the incentive of buildings malls?
Its the rapidly growing urban middle class which demands such facilities.
Why would you think Delhi,Gurgaon etc.would have a skyline flooded with malls?Thats because there are millions of people to make use of it.
Otherwise,in a profit oriented life like today,no one would build malls for a population, where a common man cannot afford being at malls.
"There has been a spiralling growth in the number of shopping malls in India from none in 2000 to nearly 100 within five years, most malls Mumbai which has share of 31% and then Delhi NCR which has share 21% [1], with 360 malls anticipated across India by 2007 and up to 600 malls by the end of 2009.[2][3] The growth was fuelled by rising incomes, greater availability of credit and busier lifestyles."
