A Chinese Empire Reborn

An you completely ignore my points.
I am going to give you the benefit that you really are a American and not a Ganga Indian dressed in Star Spangled banner. That way I could hide my heritage behind the Union Jack. I am not ignoring anything. Tired and can't be bothered with real deep discussion. It's late here and I am clocking off. I will address the points you raised when I get the time.

.
They might be for now. After all what choice do they have? Trump's USA. Modi's India? Netanyu's Israel. However they might be for China but rest assured Chinese will not be for these far right scum. I mean you do read how China teaches "manners" to some of the Uighur;s who have over inflated idea of ummahdom. You can find out how CCP deals with the "far right religious extremists". It's not pretty but ius very, very effective which is why very few mullahs from Pakistan will get to visit China to spew their garbage. Fact is oil and water do not mix. Fact is religious extremism and Maoist Athiesm does not mix. And don't think I am talking theoretical here. UK as much as Sweden has peoples from everywhere. I have spent some time with Chinese very close up. One of my friends is Pakistani born in HK who speaks fluent Chinese and moved to UK post HK handover. So I get a glimpse into the Sinosphere.
The right wingers in Pakistan says whatever happens in China is their internal affairs.

Who are we to tell them how to run their house.

Does that very smart, very Machiavellian thought process extend to other countries. Nope. I will say again to you. From afar even to rivals can live in bliss. But now with CPEC Maost Athiesm is going to meet close up and persional the religious medivalism that is rampent in Pakistan. I look forward to the collision and I also know what is going have to give give to the Chinese athiest juggernaut ... hahaha .... !

Evening !

To accuse me of being Indian the way you and your Chinese friends have is the height of dishonesty. I've made it clear that I'm a White Caucasian of German descent and yet race is still brought up. It's petty and pathetic.

An yes, you absolutely ignored my points. Demographic trend lines are everything, and that does NOT bode well for China. How's that aging and declining population going for Japan? That's China in 30 years...

.
Maybe I've gotten a bit bored on these stereotypes? I don't know. If you don't have something new to report, just typing following shxxxts to earn a life:
1. corruption (remember that every single problem in China is due to CCP corruption)
2. Uighurs (they live a bloody miserable life)
3. Tibetan (they live a bloody missable life, too)
4. Hongkong
5. Cultural repression
....

For point 4 and 5, I have my own experience and observation.
I have many Hongkong friends. There are many reasons why Hongkong people (special young) feel angry, unsafe, doubt, uncertain, not so confident no more..: income inequality, high living cost, expensive (and unbearable and undreamable) real estate price, more and more mainland influence, more competition...

All these are true. But you know what, the most fundamental reason is: China mainland is much developped now than before, and then Hongkong is no longer special to China.
A quick glance at below (year 2016 GDP):
1. Shanghai 423.8 billion (USD 17530 per capita)
2. Beijing 384.2 billion (USD 17680 per capita)
3. Hongkong 320.9 billion (USD 43681 per capita)
4. Guangzhou 302.6 billion (USD 21700 per capita)
5. Shenzhen 300.8 billion (USD 25790 per capita)
...
Reminded that back in 1980, Hongkong GDP used to be 31% of whole china's.
Now it is merely 2.8%, how come it still be special?
Under such a circumstance, many changes in material aspects and people's mindset take place.

Regarding "cultural repression", I have personal experience. When I was a kid, in schools, we were taught in Cantonese, and we spoke Cantonese, we watched Cantonese TV, we don't understand many jokes/ talkshow/ "xiaopin" in mandarin (we understood what they said, but what the hell they were laughing?) . Many teachers were not able to speak Mandarin (Pu tong hua). Those who can, spoke in broken, hard to understand. If I remember correctly, it was not until 1993-1994, teachers are forced to learn mandarin themselves, and teach their students (I was one of) in mandarin. Many old age teachers really had to struggle, very poor.
I myself had many embarrassing moments (e.g. even late when I was freshman in university, I shouted at my roommate to hurry up: 你快点“死”呀,你不“死”,我怎么“死”?, when he occupied the bathroom for too long. You know, I was saying "洗“, take a bath。

Is it "cultural repression"? you may argue.
To me, I feel thankful instead. Many wouldn't agree with me. But I felt that it is a need.
Several days ago, one of my Hongkong friends even discussed this with me, he asked: "You used to speak Cantonese, not mandarin, now you rely more on mandarin every single day, and we all know that central government have and had plans to spread mandarin all over the whole country. Don't you feel pity, angry? Don't you feel Cantonese is better in interpreting our old chinese culture/ poems?".

No, I said. Cantonese influence declines, it is normal, it is just back to its normal status, not a surprise to me. Now I speak Cantonese, I don't feel a bit pity. I speak Mandarin, I don't feel a bit guilty. Why should I.

A chinese empire reborn?
I sincerely wish.

I think from the reading I have done the Chinese economy already matches US. However it will take another 50 years for China to consolidate and then leverage that to reach supreme position as the "hyperpower". US will remain superpower but China will reach altogether another level of economic magnitude and thus the term "hyperpower" might be appropriate. To be sure there will be hurdles it faced in the last 40 years were far more difficult to overcome. But China did. So it shall with what lies ahead.

USA took over the British economy around 1880s but it needed a few more decades for US to manifest itself as superpower and overtake British prestige.

China has more middle income citizens than US. But they still have numerous poor people in their country. That's because of their massive population number.

Ps. We will get more Lal Masijids as we move forward with CPEC . And you know who will get busted. Warning: Yeh don't mess with Chinese outside or inside Pakistan.

On 27 March 2007, female students from Jamia Hafsa kidnapped three women, who they accused of running a brothel, and seized two policemen.[23] All of the women were released after supposedly confessing to running the brothel and were shown on the television wearing burqas. Also due in part to an intercession from the Chinese Ambassador, Luo Zhaohui.[24]

The military-led government finally took action after the Lal Masjid squad kidnapped three Chinese girls and accused them of prostitution. The situation escalated to a point that some feared the militants might take over the capital itself. On July 3, 2007, army troops backed by tanks and artillery guns surrounded the mosque. But the final onslaught was held off in order to allow time for the students to surrender.

I doubt any more lal masjids will happen in Pakistan.

Pakistan is getting better by the day.

Okay, I will accept who you say you are. And honerstly I am not trying to ignore the points you made. It's late here and your points require a well articulated response and right now I am too shafted to bother with that. But I will reply in full next time I am here. For now I can only manage cheap shots at the mullah apologists here.

Anyway apology for suggesting you are Indian. I was ready to believe that because I see this often on PDF. And before I go I don't agree one bit with your government but I am cool with Yanks. Nothing personal. Ta ta ....

China is not taking over Pakistan. It will just do business without getting involved in any confrontations. I have more experience with Chinese people than you despite your age. Their way of dealing with situations on ground is drastically different from what you're portraying especially outside mainland China.

India is set to become the 3rd largest economy here soon enough, and a population that is set to surpass China within 5 years. That means more money for defense and R&D. They may be behind China for now, but there power is only going to grow and that gap will narrow, especially if the India/US relationship grows.

To underestimate India is stupid, really stupid. India's populations will reach 1.7 billion mid century, while China's will be in terminal decline. It's obvious that capability gap will narrow.

Here again a China doomsday prophecy. Wish your luck for that.

Yes, let Indians breeding faster than they now. Indian needs a billions more people in their already over crowded small lands, and see how their government handle the poverty that generated from that over population problem. If you think that kama sutra doesn't help much with this breeding campaign, you can always ask Japan with their JAV. Breed, breed, breed more!

I think India doesn't need more people, they need less people than they have already have now; to solve their economy, education, and even to generate their people as asset, and not as liability.

Some America born Chinese are so eager to badmouth China to show their loyalty to their host country due to their inferiority complex such as Gordon Chang and the OP.
