Wow, that is a big change from you to say that PTI will replace PMLN, and secondly PTI wanting to annihilate PMLN from Punjab is not a problem, its a strategy and all political parties have to come up with strategies to win seats so they can form govt and bring in the policies that they have promised the people.
I agree that in KPK they will need to win a lot more seats than they did last time. But here is the break up of National Seats and you can see that winning majority seats from Punjab is the only way to form govt in Center.
Total Seats = 272
Punjab = 148
Sindh = 61 ( Karachi = 20 seats )
KPK = 35
Balochistan = 14
FATA = 12
Islamabad = 2
Seats required to form govt = 172
As you can see even if we add all the seats of the rest of the country and ISB the total seats = 124. So they have to dislodge PMLN in Punjab to form govt, there is no other way.
172? You only need 137 seats to form government, rest are reserved seats so doesn't count. And 25-30 seats in Punjab are won by independents who go with winning party. PPP in 2008 got 6 million votes in punjab and in 2013 half of it. If 3 million vote left for PPP is picked up by PTI then they will win many more seats in 2018.
But PTI is expecting to form government in punjab and Islamabad at the same time. Which is why it looks difficult for them.
If work is as amazing in KP as they claim then PTI need to win 45 seats in KP/FATA out of 47. In Sindh they need to win 10 seats and Balochistan 5. total 60 seats
Now in punjab/islamabad they need to win just 1/3, around 50 seats. Total 110 seats won.
To form government in Islamabad they will need to convince some independents and maybe make alliance with other small party to reach 137. Even N in 2013 only won around 120 seats.
