Formed in 1984, National Security Guard was modelled on the pattern of the Special Air Services of the UK and GSG-9 of Germany.
They are trained to conduct counterterrorist task, including counter-hijacking tasks on land, sea, and air, bomb disposal, post-blast investigation and hostage-rescue missions.
