69 M1A2 Abrams tanks to Saudi Arabia

Ok, just for clarification. You are telling me that SA can maintain all its aircraft alone without foreign advisers and technicians and produces all spare parts for every fighter 100% in country.

No but at the same level as any country operating a foreign aircraft, in fact I would rank it within the top 10% of countries operating foreign aircrafts. The whole "Saudis can't do **** without advisors and technicians" is a complete bull.

Hell we are even maintaining AND MANYFACTURING some conponents if our own AMRAAM missiles.

Your argument isn't all that logical as well and you sort of make my point for me. If the royal family are truly afraid of rebellion then they need not invest in 4+ Gen fighters and M1 tanks. They would be better off building up a large force of crowd dispersal vehicles and a militia such as that of the Iranian Basij. My explanation for their build up is an over abundance of funds and resources. The Saudis in my opinion are after all the latest toys and not after a incredibly powerful and disciplined military. For one no military especially one with funds would seek multiple sources for their MBTs and fighters and thus creating a logistical nightmare in times of war. Although still powerful enough to outclass anything in the area besides Egypt and Israel with the funds they have they should be way ahead of both. Also why in the hell haven't you started your own fighter or MBT program or at least an Arab fighter one "sigh" such a waste.

You are not thinking this through properly.

US/West can create havoc in Saudi Arabia if they wanted to. Look at what they are doing in Syria and have done in Libya.

By buying tens of billions of dollars of US/UK arms, the Saudi Royal Family is giving the West an incentive not to do the same in Saudi Arabia.

This is only one way that the Saudi monarchy is trying to survive. There are others as well.

End of the day, the West can get rid of the gulf monarchies any time they wish and the gulf states are just trying to keep the most dominant group happy.

Good to know and Inshallah you get even better. I still stand by my opinion though although i have to alter it a bit :)

First of all, the situation in Libya and Syria occurred as result of oppression that lasted decades by brutal dictators and not a foreign conspiracy. These revolutions may have been hijacked and warped but the reason they started was oppression. Now Saudi doesn't have that much freedom of speech and political participation is low, however, revolution isn't likely in Saudi as the living standard for most remains acceptable or high and so there isn't widespread anger at the monarchy.

By buying tens of billions of dollars of US/UK arms, the Saudi Royal Family is giving the West an incentive not to do the same in Saudi Arabia.
Other way round. The west remains reliant on SA oil and in return they allow SA unrestricted access to weaponry.

This is only one way that the Saudi monarchy is trying to survive. There are others as well.
The Saudi monarchy is relying on bribing its own people to maintain its own position. For example there aren't any taxes.

End of the day, the West can get rid of the gulf monarchies any time they wish and the gulf states are just trying to keep the most dominant group happy.
No intelligence agency can ferment a successful revolution at most they can fund a coup and even that is risky. Theres no need to remove any regime when that regime does not oppose the interests of the US.
