At least 20 killed, over 50 injured in blast inside Imambargah in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: At least 20 people have been killed in a blast inside Imambargah Maula Karballa in Lakhi Dar area of Shikarpur on Friday during prayers.
According to Shaukat Memon, Medical Superintendent Civil Hospital Shikarpur, over 50 people have also been injured in the huge blast that was reportedly heard several kilometers away. Children are also reportedly among the dead as well as injured.
Scores of worshipers were present inside for prayers during the time of the blast.
Police and rescue services were dispatched immediately to the blast site while the injured are being taken to Civil Hospital Shikarpur.
The nature of the blast was not yet known.
According to rescue services sources, the roof of the Imambargah caved in after the blast. Teams are busy in recovering survivors from the rubble.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the blast and ordered an immediate inquiry.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain also condemned the blast.
