New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, the World Health Organisation (WHO), in its recent report, has revealed that more than half of Indian doctors are not medically qualified.
The report titled 'Health Workforce in India' claimed that around 31% of those who claimed to be allopathic doctors in 2001, had studied till secondary school level, whereas some 57% did not have any medical qualifications, the Hindu reported.
The WHO report also revealed that in rural India, only 18% of the allopathic doctors had a medical qualification.

The study based on the data collected from all districts during the 2001 census also showed that 60% of Ayurvedic doctors and 46% of Unani doctors had medical qualifications. Whereas, only 42% of homepathy practioners were found to be medically qualified.

The report also revealed that only 42.3% of denists in India had a medical degree.

The WHO report also found that women workforce in health sector was better educated than their male counterparts, with 67% of females having a medical qualification compared to 38% of males.

Sounding an alarm on India's already dismal doctor-patient ratio, the WHO report reduces the figure from 80 doctors/lakh population to 36 doctors/lakh population.

It seems WHO do work for west to damage the Asian countries economy.
HOw may Doctors India has?? It looks WHO r working for Europe to damage the Indian health care industry

How many Doctors India produce every year??

but what that news shows is complete different story of Indian Health care system!

"Healthcare has become one of India’s largest sectors - both in terms of revenue and employment. Healthcare comprises hospitals, medical devices, clinical trials, outsourcing, telemedicine, medical tourism, health insurance and medical equipment. The Indian healthcare sector is growing at a brisk pace due to its strengthening coverage, services and increasing expenditure by public as well private players."

Market Size

The overall Indian healthcare market today is worth US$ 100 billion and is expected to grow to US$ 280 billion by 2020, a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 22.9 per cent. Healthcare delivery, which includes hospitals, nursing homes and diagnostics centres, and pharmaceuticals, constitutes 65 per cent of the overall market.

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India has predicted that with increased digital adoption, the Indian healthcare market, which is worth US$ 100 billion, will likely to grow at a CAGR of 23 per cent to US$ 280 billion by 2020.

There is a significant scope for enhancing healthcare services considering that healthcare spending as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is rising. Rural India, which accounts for over 70 per cent of the population, is set to emerge as a potential demand source.

India requires 600,000 to 700,000 additional beds over the next five to six years, indicative of an investment opportunity of US$ 25-30 billion. Given this demand for capital, the number of transactions in the healthcare space is expected to witness an increase in near future. The average investment size by private equity funds in healthcare chains has already increased to US$ 20-30 million from US$ 5-15 million, as per PriceWaterHouseCoopers.

That's really shocking let's what Indians have to say. I hope they do not go into usual denial mode and start labelling WHO is an ISI pet.

But it make sense as with huge population and extreme poverty, people are left with no option but to go to these quakes who are effective for normal effective for usual diseases like headaches, fever etc and cheap also. But anything other than normal disease can destroy the poor patient's life.

It also laughs in the face of the govt of the "rising shining whatever" as it fails to curb these practice and provide people with some basic health facilities but spends billions of dollars on terrorism in Kashmir and also buy defence equipment to fill coffers of certain politicians and generals.

Though we have the same problems in Pakistan but I'm sure not of this magnitude.

No i am not but you are in a hurry to declare any news report exposing Indian supremacy in any field.

If the same WHO and news paper reported that in India fake doctors are 0% take my words Indian would be the first to accept it as holy truth and declare WHO as the most truthful institute or organisation.
