54% of Pakistanis believe immigration across borders is a good thing​

54% of Pakistanis believe immigration across borders is a good thing, 13% consider it bad. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 54% of Pakistanis believe immigration across borders is a good thing, 13% consider it bad. Support for immigration in Pakistan is higher than global average which stands at 34.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Generally speaking, do you think immigration including bringing in foreign workers is a good thing or a bad thing for this country?” Responding to this, 54% of Pakistanis believe that immigration is a good thing, 13% believe that it is a bad thing whereas 26% believe it to be neither good nor bad. However, 7% did not give a view.
