I am an optimist and I believe that this mistrust can be turned arround. When Jinnha asked for a seperate nations, he was int think about creating a Muslim nation to exploit other minorities, but he was thinking of a free nation where Muslims and others are equal. The only reason he asked for a seperate nations is that "He feared inequality for Muslims in India" Althong what he perceived about Hindus exploiting Muslims in India was wrong in the subsequent years, his intensions of creating a nation for Muslims was pure and he did not think of fighting India with the nation that he gave brith on Aug 14th 1947.

btw hindu and muslims are living together in india , perhaps you missed that. Unless you think you will unite Pakistan into India or vice versa with that last statement you made.

I never said we can be one again as a single nation. but i believe that one day we can walk tall as friends we have to forget the scars or wounds to embrase the future. And peace and friendship between India and Pakistan is a good future not only from both the nations but for the entire region

Brother, it is very reassuring that there are Indians like you who genuinely want peace. With these small steps of people-to-people interaction on both sides of the border we will some day achieve peace on a greater scale.

Wow ashokbhai its a pleusure reading your posts. I must sy that I was born in pakistan and my loyalty is without doubt with pakistan. However I must say that I cant help feeling when I look at canada where they have french speakers and english speaker maijorities in some towns or america where they have some states like mormon states that it might have been interesting to at least look at another option at the time of partition. Maybe we could have had a loose federation with strong states and a weak centre. I cant help feeling sometimes that the British deliberatly left a situation in india/pakistan where we would continue arguing and fighting 60 years on. But then I must say that our political leaders over the last 6 decades failed us because they should have resolved this. We have so much in common yet we spend all our times emphasising the differences. Earlier this morning I was invited by one of my best friends who is indian to london to celebrate the new year. Why are we so close yet so far? Back on topic I think we in both pak and india should be careful when dealing with white english speaking countries they have proved over and over again they have no love for us nor wish us well.

PS: On a side note, I do agree that western countries do give special mention to third world countries wrt. tourism....But then again, it is our mistake that we dont do the same when things like the London riots happen to these countries as well.

What's all the fuss about? Delhi has been bombed at least twice a year for the last 15 years. Thousands of people have died in terrorist attacks and India can do absolutely nothing about it, even if it wanted to. FYI, governments have a duty to protect their citizens.
