As a sign of respect and unity to their Christian brothers and sisters, around 45,000 Hindus paid tribute to baby Jesus in Bhubaneshwar, capital of the State of Odisha, India on Christmas Day.

Their homage was a symbolic act since the Indian state was where a vicious persecution of Christians took place back in 2008, according to the Vatican Radio.

Father Prasanna Pradhan, pastor of St. Vincent Cathedral in the state capital, revealed that the people of Odisha actually "have a deep sense of respect and honour for Jesus, who dispels darkness of discord and division and strengthens ties between people."

Pradhan also believes that the Christians who were brutally killed in the state several years ago only made people of different faith awestruck of God's magnificence. "Christianity is much better known among people of different faiths," he said.

During that summer of 2008, Hindus in Odisha unleashed their violence on 100 people and destroyed over 300 churches and other places of worship. Thankfully, things have drastically changed for Christians in the state.

John Barwa, archbishop of Cuttack-Bhubaneshwar, is grateful for the support given by the state government and for providing "protection to Christians, especially those persecuted in Kandhamal."

"Christmas," he added, "speaks about Christ. It speaks of how He deprived himself to save sinners. Christmas is about how the Son of God became man and how He lived on earth. Christmas speaks of what Jesus accomplished on the cross and how He conquered death. Christmas tells us how a sinner can meet with God."

Aside from the Hindus' homage to Christ on Dec. 25, they also dedicated their time to care for the poor and needy. To highlight God's love and kindness, the Missionaries of Charity, an institute founded by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, even handed out hot meals to hundreds of destitute people.

. .
lol millions of Hindus visit places of worship of other faiths.

.
Actually Hindus ,Christians and Muslims live peacefully in India
it's politicians who makes problem so they can be in power
normal citizens don't care what others religion or cast is
they just want to live and die peacefully

. .
What's there to cheer about it? Hundreds of thousand people celebrated birthday of Jesus where Hindus were brutally killed for refusing to convert to Christianity.

.
What a dumb title. It is made to sound as if christians are routinely killed in Odisha. They must answer as to how many were killed. "unleashed over a 100 people" does not just cut it. How many were killed. Was it an isolated incident.
Dumb atrocity propagandists.

The source is not even from mainstream media.

We should not rely on mainstream media too. Its credibility is just as good or bad as evangelical propaganda sites as far as Christianity is concerned.

People hardly celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ when they celebrate Christmas. Jesus Christ was not born on December 25th either. Here is the confirmation of hoax of Jesus being born on 25th December.

That was from the head of Catholic Church which does not give a quarter where historicity of Christianity is concerned. Neither does the Orthodox or many sects of Protestants believe in Jesus being born on Dec 25th.

Christmas is celebrated for the sparkling Christmas tree and Santa and the cakes and chocolates and puddings (All Pagan).

You are wrong. Politician hardly does anything. It is fundamentalism within so called abrahmic religion which is the root of problem.
but you can't see any problems in arab and Christian populated countries

Its because Christian nations don't let organised covert conversions through NGOs in thier countries in the name of aid which is the root cause of divide.

People of every country whichever it may be in any part of the world can possibly be turned into extremists and made insecure about thier surroundings. Approach to achieve this is different for different countries depending upon various factors such as social and economical. A country with low income is obviously an easy target since people are used to trusting their god more than themselves to do their work. The more you have deep knowledge of a society, the easier it is to predict the reaction of people.

For years there has been intellectual colonialism in this country which thankfully is changing now. If others are successful today, sure do what they do, but don't do what they tell you to do. Its better to do mistakes and learn rather than making a habbit of listening to others even if they are right. Last decade saw huge influx of foreign fundings of both local and international NGOs. Internations NGOs have Indians as their heads but take dictation from outside. Ideally these funds are for the help of non-sustainable, non-productive civil society which is working for the betterment of people, on the contrary these funds are used to create more divide among people for political purposes or simply diverted to fund businesses which is illegal. Its a huge problem when people when start to get money for more and more problems there are in the society, because then they start to create their own problems to sustain themselves. It would be extremely gullible to believe that these NGOs are for humanitarian cause, rather they provide cover to each other. NGOs for religious conversions are backed by minority rights NGOs which are backed by some other human rights NGOs. Why would random people from outside countries be so much eager to help when their own governments are not ready for technological transfer or sharing of resources.
[Note:- Don't confuse this as a rant against every NGO. There are many NGOs which are genuine]

Dharmic religions are amalgam of various cultures & traditions which vary region to region and there are no proper defined set of rules or code of conduct and here people largely believe in pluralism. Since Dharmic relgions are indigenous to this land which are not well defined, hence fortunately, or unfortunately for some, the large part of history has Dharmic connect. And if one takes pride in history the person automatically becomes communal. Then there is a constant push of not doing enough towards secularism, combined this with extreme leftism and selective liberal approach towards different faiths makes way for the rise of right wing. The only way things will normalise is after the defeat of extreme left and hypocrite libral, making way for moderate left and true liberals which I personally believe will happen only after unconditional support to right wing and don't think there is any more better way of dealing this. Once things start to normalise, people of this country will reject right wing as well. Over the years in India the narrative has been changed. The same people which rejected the two nation theory years ago are today vouching for it by claiming different, having different history and different heroes. If there is no narrative, over generations same problems will keep occuring and history will keep repeating itself. People should have the right to be different but so should the state, to propagate their narrrative. Its not saffronisation and it happens all over the world.

Or in simple word when leftists ideology make improvements in society hdi and educational level improvements capitalism pays for hard right to rise then leed to a war so the1% won't be threatened
And since the hard day's are gone it's easy to set new priorities like religion and cast but truth is we need left ideas to improve as a society
