Cyprus peace operation launched on 20 July 1974 was a Turkish operation in Cyprus in response to the 1974 Greek-Cypriot coup détat (Enosis) by Greece to Hellenize the island. The Turkish codename of the operation was Operation Atilla.
To memorize this event i will share some photos regarding this event:
The landings of Turkish Airborne Brigade. (paratroopers)
Arming a Turkish jet.
A wounded Turkish soldier doesnt want to leave the battleground and stays to fight.
A captured Greek tank.
A powerful photo of a Turkish Cypriot rebel who lossed a lot of compatriots is happy that Turkish soldiers arrived.
Turks captured fake UN nation emblems used by the Greek troops.
Turkish Cypriot Mujahideen Rauf Denktas greeting a Turkish commander.
Lt. Gen. Nurettin Ersin and Rauf Denktas greeting Turkish soldiers.
A Greek HQ in Cyprus taken over by Turkish troops.
The first Ezan (adhan) at the Girne mosque closed by the Greek. A verry powerfull mesage.
