4 New F-22 P Frigates Coming to Pakistan

Yes that can be a target. But it is altogether a different ball game when it comes to question of where the money is going to come from to pay for these goodies.

I am getting increasingly uncomfortable with the Free Chinese Credit lines that we so much like to dip into. They would eventually have strings attached to them as well.

Hope we can deliver on them. Otherwise we would have another about turn and this time around we will be back where we started from -- Uncle Sam!!! That would be disaster of the highest magnitude.

Therefore, it would be prudent to develop our Navy in a more affordable manner with most of funds generated organically. We are already way behind IN and would remain so for times to come. Hence, our plans, both political, diplomatic and military should be cognizant of this fact and delay and deflect any flash point untill such time when we ca nhandle such an instance easily.

You can actually have a very effective sea denial capability with just Air power. Get long legged aircraft and see how they sink enemy ships. You know, jets that can fly out 800miles and back again, loaded with 400km range anti-shipping missiles......

I say 800 miles out as that is the range of most cruise missiles in the sub-continent...so if you strike em out at 800 miles...they can't launch an attack on your installations.

i say 400 km anti-ship missiles as the aircraft would be at the outer most range of most naval radars (Assuming India here).....but for that you need a powerful AESA radar on the aircraft that can pick up naval vessels from that far...

For the submarine threat you can have submarines and corvettes.....armed with SONAR and latest torpedoes....if the Submarines are surfacing....they become target for your aircaft.

Without airpower......no matter how many destroyers/frigates/submarines we have, you will always lose lot of assets.

PN must get it's own air wing.....and the fighter layout i highlighted is not something difficult to achieve. Yes funding makes procurement of even fishing boats difficult...so that's a different debate.

So, uhm, how would you board and inspect ships? Or nudge them out of your waters, without actually sinking them.

Against surface combatants, a nice big 400 km land-based Anti-ship missile like C-602/YJ-62 can also serve as a good deterrent.

Any plans of co-developing destroyers with china, Experience gained from F22P would be very handy.

the most important aspect for any navy is detection range of their enemy. we saw the US have a pearl harbour, the indians had there dwarka & pakistan had their karachi port bombing in 71, the argentinans there falkland campaign.

the thing is i don't know how far out can pakistan detect its enemy. you can muster a force in time only if you know way before the enemy arrives within attacking range. so the absolute essential thing to any navy is there detection range.

Hence my question : Can we come up with a Jindalee Operational Radar Network of our own...? One which is suited to Pakistan and financially viable for Pakistan to acquire.

Only can say, only time can tell, the relations between the countries depends solely on the interests, the Chinese people know enough for it, but if we want a true friend, it is Pakistan, may also be the only one.

What happens in the future, no one can know, and a hand can not applaud, so only time will tell.

What do you think?
PN should have a bigger and potent SSKs fleet like 11++ of them.
11 Frigates (4F-22Ps+ 3 Type-54Bs+ 4 Type-54Cs)
7 Corvettes (3 phase I + 4 phase II)
11 FACs till 2020

Zardari gov is to blame they have made zero transactions for Navy or Army since they came to power

I blame former Naval chief equally... very shadowy character.
He planned nothing for navy, he even canceled what his predecessor planned for navy during Musharraf era.

navy needs to get stronger pakistan has a big enough sea belt and on top of it all our largest city is bordered with sea we need our navy at the top
