The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) has activated some 4,000 foreign-trained Tausug fighters embedded in Sarawak and Sabah in Malaysia, group spokesman Emmanuel Fontanilla told The Philippine Star yesterday.

Fontanilla said the mobilisation of the fighters was to protect Tausugs, who he claimed have been the subject of a crackdown by Malaysian authorities recently.

According to the Philippine daily, he said the MNLF fighters were in addition to the Sulu Sultanate Army led by Agbimuddin Kiram, the brother of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III, leading the armed struggle to reclaim their ancestral land in Sabah.

MNLF founding chairman Nur Misuari had declared Sarawak and Sabah as part of the Bangsa Moro Republik (BMR).

Fontanilla, however, clarified that the MNLF fighters in Malaysia will act only in self-defense against any attack from Malaysian security forces.

Fontanilla declined to elaborate how the armed group, called the Bangsa Moro Army in Malaysia, was “activated” but a source revealed at least five countries are supporting it with arms shipments that had arrived in the disputed territory.

“Just like what happened in the early ‘70s at the height of Mindanao conflict, Sabah and Sarawak will be the main base of the Bangsa Moro Army,” the Philippine Star quoted the source as saying.

The source said the MNLF had since the early 1970s set up guerrilla and training camps in Sabah with the consent of the Malaysian government at the time.

The source added huge arms shipments were also sent to MNLF in Mindanao weeks before Misuari declared independence in Talipao, Sulu, last August.

“MNLF troops are now bearing modern assault weapons coming from foreign supporters,” the source said.

Fontanilla, however, denied the arms shipment, saying the reports were part of negative propaganda against the MNLF. - September 9, 2013.

This is not a wise move, because this means MNLF will have to fight both the Philippines and Malaysia. MNLF should work on liberating Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan in the Philippines and use legal means to negotiate with Malaysia if they want Sabah returned to the Bangsamoro.

A better place for the MNLF to set up a base is the Spratly Islands. If China evicts the Philippines from Kalayaan islands, it can host the MNLF there and provide them access to Palawan, which is also claimed by MNLF as part of Bangsamoro.

MNLF needs to move carefully and should seek support from China against the Philippines and avoid confrontation with Malaysia especially after the Lahad Datu incident.

Oh you are so cute! Sure you are sad. Countries are enemies just because they have territory disputes? Can't wait for a war can you?

okay. I have no idea what u just said. 请解释?

I guess a minimum of 4,000+ malaysian bullets are needed to end this threat

Hell yeah. Terrorists must die.

well those rats against Malays fire power superiority stands no chance at all

. .
Malaysia does not have any spare 4,000 coffins for those terrorist scums.

As for Sarawak and Sabah, they are now own by Malaysia, not terrorist jihadist scums.

These people have the nerve to take over and occupy a land in Malaysia? That's why they're not wanted anywhere because wherever they are, there's trouble. They have wasted more than 20 precious years of running the ARMM. Misuari is a pest in this country. He's given the chance to improve the lives of his people, but when he fails, blames everybody but himself and these rogues MNLF.

MILF appeals to MNLF to take path to peace

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has called on the Moro National Liberation (MNLF) “to take the path of peace” following Monday morning’s attack on several coastal villages.

The MILF, a breakaway group of the MNLF, is talking peace with the government.

Jaafar also reminded armed and unarmed MILF members in Zamboanga City and the island provinces of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to stay neutral.

“If there is any MILF involvement, our role is to secure innocent civilians that may be caught in the crossfire. As much as possible no aggression or violent participation from our end,” said Jaafar, MILF vice chair for political affairs.

Recently, MNLF founding chair Nur Misuari publicly declared his plan to pursue the establishment of an independent Bangsamoro state at a time when the MILF was in the verge of finalizing with the Aquino government an enhanced ARMM autonomy which could become the new political entity for Muslims in Mindanao.

Chief Superintendent Noel Delos Reyes, ARMM police director, said the public declaration of Misuari to secede from the republic prompted him to look into a possible sedition case against the aging MNLF leader, but had fizzled out with the absence of violence or armed uprising.

With this development, Delos Reyes said the Western Mindanao police force should now look into this problem, explaining that Zamboanga City is not even part of ARMM.

The city government of Zamboanga City on Saturday launched a new tourism campaign urging people to visit the city.

The attack also came more than a week after the August 31 meeting between the MNLF, the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) regional government and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) where they agreed to create a steering committee that would oversee the implementation of PAMANA or Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Peaceful and Resilient Communities) program.

Around 50 senior MNLF leaders discussed with ARMM and OPAPP officials how to advance development programs in the MNLF communities.

PAMANA, which is the government’s program and framework for peace and development in conflict-affected and vulnerable areas in the country, targets to spur economic developments in the MNLF communities.

Under the program, senior leaders of the MNLF will identify the type of socio-economic interventions needed in the MNLF communities, while line agencies of the ARMM will implement the projects with OPAPP acting as the oversight body.

Yeah, also greediness these issue is all about. That's what greedy people do! Unfortunately, greedy people just can't get enough no matter how rich they are or successful they may be. They are always looking for someone to gobble. China's greediness is a good example.

Greedy Philippines is claiming Taiping island, which it never owned. Greedy Philippines also annexed Moro's land based on the breaking of the Bates Treaty by America.

If China really owns those Islands as you claim then you have nothing to fear and you should face us in the UN.
