38.1% Pakistanis Now Below the Poverty Line :US Dept of Agriculture

US dep of agri has better data about Pak eco than central bank of Pakistan? Even IMF and World Bank revised their projection wrt Pak economy but this man...
Farrukh Saleem, yellow charts and intellectual dishonesty should be read and write as synonyms from now onwards.
If you consider Extreme Poverty Line of World Bank then a small percentage of the total population is in poverty in Pakistan which is utterly misleading assessment.

If you consider Multidimensional Poverty Index of World Bank then a much more 'realistic picture' of poverty situation emerge.

If you consider Mid Poverty Line of World Bank then even more realistic picture of 'poverty situation' emerge.

There is even Upper Poverty Line of World Bank to consider...

So what do you think is the situation in current times? Pakistani macro-economic indicators look better (loans being managed; reduction in imports; increase in remitances) but 'poverty situation' is worse than before. Factors such as inflation, reduction in imports and COVID-19 have damaged many households across Pakistan.

For any one rejoicing at the chart in the OP, should suck on these figures put out by UNU.
Which again begs the question, how accurate is the DATA by the US source.

As the Narendra Modi-led central government continues to pick pieces in the puzzle to rein in the coronavirus pandemic in India, the economic costs of the nationwide lockdown on millions of poor could be catastrophic. Projections based on a recent analysis by researchers at the United Nations University (UNU) show that, in the worst case scenario, 104 million more people in India could fall below the World Bank-determined poverty line of $3.2 a day for lower-middle-income countries. At present, 60 per cent of India’s population, or an estimated 812 million people, live below that poverty line.

Pointless comparison in this thread to be honest.

These inbred Patwari fool wakes up in the morning and find all the fake and bad news about Pakistan and post it as a PhD thesis to please other inbred Patwaris on this forum.

Since when US Dept of agriculture became an authentic source of data about Pakistan?

what is next?
RSS daily news feed these patwaris will use to feed their inner traitor???
Sorry but your contention is on similar lines as that of any Patwari. You need to dig more into this subject or consult relevant experts in relation.

Sir, indeed there is poverty but for true comparison, we have to analyze data of how much it changed YoY% during last 10-15 years. Though this data may have some statistical discrepancies especially due to covid-19, but if the situation in 2021 is more of the same as it was in 2017-18, then not much as changed, and Farrukh Saleem just did it to discredit this government and this is what intellectual dishonesty means.

You see no problem with that? You think that vindicates the current government?

Covid situation, disruption in global supply lines, and lockdowns in export partners, we should give this government a chance of doubt.
Secondly, as for as no. of employed people is concerned, according to central bank's data, it had already reached near pre-covid level in Dec 2020.
With an end to lockdowns and expansion in economy (especially 1100+ billion pumped in rural economy), the real income of households may have already increased (recent increase in sales of automobiles, bikes, tractors and a rise in imports is an indicator) so, imo, poverty has already come down a bit, and it may go well down gradually as LSM is showing positive growth since last year, but trickel-down effect takes time.

The point in last post was that you can't vindicate past governments of their responsibilities what Farukh Saleem with his yellow does.

More than 90 million Pakistanis have fallen below the poverty line out of the 230 million strong, the highest in the South Asian region, according to the US Department of agriculture. Rapidly increasing Commodity, utility, Fuel and Drug prices have taken a toll on the vast swathes of our populace.

America has lost all credibility in the eyes of the world. Being a nation led by compulsive LIARS and MURDERERS, nearly everything that the American government comes out with, is and always should be scrutinized for personal study and discredited. These are a people (American government) who have history of manipulating the truth, laced with lies, to benefit their agenda. Then idiots around the world nod their heads, justifying that there is nothing wrong with that. These idiots defend the way the American or Western governments behave, because they themselves are supporters of liars, cheats and murderers. Essentially Godless people.

So thanks but no thanks, US Dept of Agriculture, where majority of the agricultural land of America is owned by corporate parasites. I do not believe a word of what you (US Dept of Agriculture) say. In fact, you (the American government) would not know what poverty is, even if it SLAPPED YOU IN THE FACE.

Pakistanis are People who have huge hearts and they do have humanity in them, something which the Western leadership knows NOTHING about. We are feeding our poor, because they are our fellow brothers and sisters in Islam, and because they are our fellow humans. I bet the American government would look like a complete j@cka$$ when a Pakistani Journalist would ask them what a "Langar" is!!!!

Take your pack of lies, and go jump in the Atlantic Ocean. We may be poor financially, but we have what you will never have (even if you tried), and that is love for Allah Subhanahu Wata'aalah.

Inflation is going to be undoing of this PTI Gov. With 2 years left in elections they need to focus on one or two key areas at MAX instead of trying to do everything and achieving mediocre or barely noticeable results.

Target one or two key areas like police reforms or economy and go all out. Next elections will require something much more significant than "PMLN chor hai".

poverty is because of over population in pakistan
No, Poverty is because lack of skill set and laziness. Educated and skillful population is actually an assets. That’s why western nations create skill based immigration criteria. For I.e 80% of Pakistani women, sitting at home, don’t contribute anything to the economy. They Consume goods and service, and that’s is all.

Saaray mil ker ham ko bana rahay hain dash kay bachay. My electricity bill this month was over 40k. The price for a little luxury of sleeping in a comfortable room with an inverter on 26c to a middle class person after working your *** off during the day. MC
There are no free lunches in the world. All those subsidies, corruption in public projects, free money scheme like BB income support program. Free medical. Someone has to foot the bill. It’s usually the working class that’s get screwed over.

I don't expect Pakistan will be worse than India after corona. I would doubt this data unless it is verified by other agencies in Pakistan or abroad.

This is the reason pak cant afford taking more refugees, but we can provide them safe corridors if they willing to go to india or india willing to provide them shelters
