What makes you think this Quran verse is wrong ???? The verse is talking about the scene from the eyes of Dzulkarnaen, something that he see and feel. You also will see Sun is setting in the sea if you are on the beach.

While the Hadith is just prophet Muhammad understanding. It is also not wrong in the eyes perspective. Need to give you explanation that Hadith is in second place after Quran. Only Quran that is protected while Hadiths is not.

God in that verse is talking about story of Dzulkarnaen. Quran is not like science text book, some part of Quran can talk about story just like you read Feature news where you will feel like how Dzulkarnaen feel and see

About the creation of Universe, God is clearly trying to make it easy to understand for people living in 7 centuries how Universe is created. We have to understand the capacity of some one that we are trying to teach.

Quran also use what we are called some language that will make the reader feel easy to understand and some time beautiful language just like a Poetry language to make it interesting to read while the essence of truth is still preserved.

It should be stated as stages, but Quran try to make people living in 7 Century understands it easily
