30 Hindu temples demolished in Vijayawada

No actually some these construction are decades old,without notice they are demolishing .. actual reason not for ghats but river front proposal from Singapore companies.. they are seeking lands in capital region..

You know, there's always an alternative.
But the government doesn't show the will to opt for an alternative when it comes to the majority...or so I feel.

Are you sure all of these temples are not older than a century???

I have idea about some temples but not all.. but these are other side of road..

The demolition of temples in the city is snowballing into a major controversy and the latest proposal to reportedly demolish a portion of the historic Vijayeswara Swamy temple located close to Prakasam Barrage has only added fuel to the fire.
A couple of days ago, there were rumours that the Vinayaka temple on the Canal Road would be razed to the ground. The Hindu Dharma Parirakshana Samithi and traders observed bandh in One Town in protest against the proposal on Wednesday. Even as the issue is yet to subside, the Vijayeswara Swamy temple, which is believed to have been consecrated by Arjuna, cropped up, inviting all-round criticism. The temple priests and the samithi performed a homam in the temple premises to make officials and the government ‘see reason,’ here on Thursday.

TBH, I'm not against demolishing religious structures which were built recently (meaning not a more than a century old).
In last few decades,plethora of temples,mosques, and other religious structures had popped up.
We dont need so many religious centres you know, these exacerbate the radicalisation of society.

some have historical imp.. . are you aware sadavarthi ( Sathram lands) in chennai city.. each acre sold for 27+ lack to his party men.. 83 acres for 23 crore.. whereas per govt estimation each acre cost 10-12 cr ( govt estimation)..

Demolishing a religious structure is not an issue.
It has been done all over India all the time.
It's about the way Naidu went about it that's the problem.

The area where they are demolishing, its a night mare for travellers traffic wise. I am in favor for such demolition. We can always build new temples somewhere else. And those will age as well.

Second, this is not the first time such a thing as happened.
Third, Masjids and Churches were also demolished.

But lately land scams and illegal land grabbing by TDP ministers have seen light.
Amaravathi initial plan is for 30-40 yrs to complete.
Already voices are being raised, that naidu has ignored APs largest City Vizag/Visakhapatnam and doing favors to Vijaywada.
