People did converted to Christianity from Judaism....as it was new and for them more enlightened.

People in large numbers converted to Hinduism from Buddhism...same/different reasons.

And people in large numbers converted to Islam from Hinduism...a relatively new and progressive religion for them, an escape for them also.

So things do change....

If there is any newer religion/ideologue comes now...many people will look into it and read about it...to accept or reject it.
