Just like people are totally uninformed that guns are estimated by the CDC to save anywhere between 500,000 - 2 million lives in the US each year.

For example simply showing you are armed, often drives away countless thugs that may otherwise think you are easy target for a crime.

But people would rather just look at one side (30,000+ gun homicides) not pausing to think that half of them are suicides to begin with and most of the rest are gang+drug warfare related....i.e deaths that would more or less happen anyway or concerning people outside of the law in first place.

I have like 20 firearms back home in Kansas, I must be really dangerous. Po-Po should have just come and lock me up because I have a tendency of killing people with gun and associated with gun crime.

They failed to (by design or by default) understand that fact that crimes happens EVERYWHERE, and if you have to cheery pick on country and say "Hey, this is a bad place" I can point to many crime committed by many country and say "XXXX" was a bad country to live in. Yes, you can probably just do that with any country in the world.
