Letter to Intervene

Dear Mr. Buch,
After discussion with Mr. Samaldas Gandhi at Rajkot on October 1, Capt. Harvey Jones, senior member of Junagadh State Council, brought certain proposals for the consideration of the Council. The Council were prepared to accept them under protest but before a final decision could be communicated to Mr. Samaldas Gandhi it was thought necessary to ascertain the opinion of the leading members of the public. A meeting was therefore held this evening and the view of the leaders was unanimously expressed that instead of handing over the administration to the Indian Union through the so-called Provisional Government, it should be directly given over to the Indian Union, through the Regional Commissioner at Rajkot.

The Junagadh Government, therefore, has requested that in order to avoid bloodshed, hardship, loss of life and property and to preserve the dynasty, you should be approached to give your assistance to the administration particularly with a view to preserve law and order, which is threatened by aggressive elements from outside. This arrangement is sought pending an honourable settlement of the several issues involved in Junagadh's accession. We have already wired to His Excellency Lord Mountbatten, Mahatmaji, Prime and Deputy Prime Ministers of India, Hon'ble Abul Kalarn Azad and the Governor-General and Prime Minister of Pakistan.
I hope you will kindly respond to this request.

Are you drunk or something? Is that what propaganda they teach in your education system? You can check the documents from GoP or even UN or pick up any international source, world knows that Junagadh/Manvadar had accede to Pakistan.

Last Days of Junagadh

On 8th November, 1947, Mr. Shah Nawaz Bhutto sent a letter to Mr. Nilam Butch, the Provincial Head of Indian Government in Rajkot requesting him to help him in restoring the law & order situation in Junagadh to stop the blood shade of the innocent citizens. Mr. Harvey Johnson took the message to Rajkot. The head of Indian Administration immediately rang up Mr. V.P. Menon in Delhi and read out the letter of Mr. Shah Nawaz Bhutto to him. Mr. Menon immediately rushed to the residence of Pandil Jawahir Lal Nehru and explained the situation. After consultation with various ministers and Mr. Valabh Bhai Patel, the home minister in particular, a formal order was immediately drafted and a notification was issued announcing the take over of Junagadh at the request of the Chief Minister of Junagadh. The notification promised a referendum in due course.

It just says Bhutto asked for help from the commissioner & he rang it up to higher authorities where your Foreign Minister ordered your army to takeover the state...in short to occupy the state. I already posted accession paper images, even the ruler was in Pakistan & even the current ruler of indian occupied J&M is in Pakistan, if you have any counter papers against that you are free to post them. Commissioner of British origin was indian representative in Rajkot, also read the last line Junagadh was taken after the request of the Chief Minister(Diwan) of Junagadh.

Kashmiris observe annual 'Black Day' against Indian rule

People in Indian-administered Kashmir have observed the annual 'Black Day' on Sunday by organizing rallies against New Delhi's rule over the disputed Himalayan Valley, Press TV reports.


Thousands launched protests and a general shutdown marking the annual Kashmir 'Black Day' on October 27. The occasion marks the day in 1947 when India landed its troops in the Himalayan region.

Almost all institutions and businesses remained closed, and traffic stayed off the streets in Srinagar and some other major towns of the Kashmir Valley.

Several separatist groups who oppose New Delhi rule over the Muslim-majority region had called for the strike and anti-India demonstrations.

The Indian government deployed thousands of extra troops in a bid to contain violent demonstrations, as Kashmiri leaders had planned to stage nationwide protests against New Delhi's rule in the disputed region.

The developments come at a time when violence continues to wreak havoc with the troubled region.

Kashmir is one of the world's most militarized areas and roughly half a million Indian forces are stationed across the valley.

The Kashmir valley has either been under curfew or shut down over the past years. Residents have been complaining about the shortage of food, medicine and other supplies.

Separatist leaders say the Indian government should hold by Fast Free Converter">security forces accountable for human rights violations in Kashmir.

Several regional and international rights groups, including Amnesty International, have called on India to take immediate steps to protect and respect human rights in the area.

Kashmir lies at the heart of more than 60 years of hostility between India and Pakistan. Both neighbors claim the region in full but have partial control over it.
