23rd march resolution day is celebrated in memory of the historic event, when the demand for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent was passed by
sher-e-bangla A.K Fazlul-Haq, thus paving the way for the Pakistan movement which ultimately led to the independence of east & west Pakistan in the Indo-Pak subcontinent

Very true. 23 March was chosen to invoke constitution as recognition of importance of Lahore Resolution.

THe first Resolution day was celebrated on 23 March 1941, one year after the passing of the resolution.

It came to be known as Pakistan day later on as the Pakistan scheme picked steam.
