Bomb attack on Pakistan hospital

At least 25 people have been killed in a bomb attack on a hospital in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province, officials say.

Reuters news agency says local Shia Muslims had gathered near the hospital after their leader had been shot dead and his body taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, there has been more fighting between militants and soldiers in the Bajaur district on the Afghan border.

One of the main challenges of the government is to improve security.

The TTP has claimed responsibility, and the bimbo's of teh Jmaat-e-Islami and Imran Khan are still on about 'exposing hidden hands' - not a word of condemnation for those who have specifically claimed responsibility for these acts time and time again.

Someone should tell Imran Khan that not everyone uses bottle caps on cricket balls...

A hospital? That kinda crosses a line, even for a bombing.

It does - and this is a new low for the Taliban, who prior to this put on a great show of only attacking Military or government targets.

This is reminiscent of Al Qaeda's activities in Iraq (and also in India - if I remember correctly a bomb was diffused at a hospital during the last series of blasts), and perhaps illustrates both the desperation of the TTP and its increasing tilt towards AQ.

I suspect, that the sentiment in Pakistan [accurately] equates militancy inside the country with the American-driven military assault being conducted in the tribal areas.

It is strange and bizarre that some try to isolate actions from their consequences.

The best way of importing war into Pakistan is not to fight it on behalf of America. Is this concept so hard to understand !?

Another PR-friendly act... gross out the establishment so it acts tough... and tough acts almost always backfire...
