20 Longest Bridges In The World (15 in China, Including Longest Which Runs 164.85 km)

.
Lol wut? There are many rail above road bridges in the world.

The CPC worker clearly didn't do his homework before spewing his propaganda.

. .
Another high-speed railway in Western China when the West can't even fix their derailed snail railway like in Supa Powa

. .
:raise:

:nono::nono::nono: It took me a whole 30 seconds to find a rail over road video. They obviously did zero research (geez what a shocker! :rolleyes1:)
Germany isn't highest in the world. And it's not HSR.
China's is highest in the world and for HSR.

Well...nice but it has nothing to do with the OP claim in the title.
BTW that bridge was built in 1877. So not exactly a new engineering feat by China.

Here's another in New Zealand.

The article says - "The railway track will run 32 meters above the highway, the highest in the world." I think they meant the gap between the rail track and the road is highest in the world. The title wasn't clear. Perhaps this has some implications from a structural engineering standpoint (heavier load on top).

Nowadays, people tend to believe it is China to do the first, the biggest, the highest, and things like this, not the US anymore, even if some claims are not true.

It was the same when the West claimed they were the first to do this or that, made the biggest, the highest etc. hundreds years ago, even when some had actually been done in the East thousands years before.

I don't understand architecture, but I think that rail above road isnt a feat, its just a form of architecture such as road above rail.

.
Special features of the bridge which have made it to claim the "first" in the world like:

"The Jinshajiang Bridge, which will have a four-lane railway and a six-lane highway, is 1874.9 meters long, with a 336-meter-wide span on its main arch. The railway track will run 32 meters above the highway, the highest in the world.

A rail-road combined bridge usually has road on top. However, a road in Yibin will connect with the highway so the bridge faced height restriction. Also, considering the mountainous terrain in the area, building rail track on top meant less tunnels."

Albeit the title was a tad misleading but the highlighted parts have fufilled sufficiently the claim if the author could have made those in a clearer statement.

Congrats!

What??? What part exactly makes it "first" for road over rail? Just because you exceeded the current height doesn't make it a "first". You're splitting hairs.

That's like saying Dubai built the "first" skyscraper with the Burj. That doesn't make sense. Oh wait a minute it has a gold plated doorknob in a closet that is slightly off-center on the 160th floor...that makes it the world's first skyscraper...silly me for thinking otherwise.

Yeah someone confused longest with first. Better remember that and gleefully hold it against the entire Chinese population for the rest of history to the end of your life like always because no one has ever misslabeled something by accident right? :D

BTW maybe a more concerning issue with your "rail above a road bridge" is that it doesn't have a road... :D

.
I think the first here means first HSR bridge which require entirely different standards from conventional rail.
