2 Syrian jets shot down by Turkey

no one said you did. but dont cry crocodile tears for syrians pal
Where are you from btw?
Forget the name “Syria”, think of it like a mature and understanding HUMAN, those who lost homes, Normal innocent civilians, HUMANS First & Foremost, cause can be whatsoever but hell broke on those innocent lives. You might not understand this, but imagine yourself being one... I am pretty sure you wouldn’t want to imagine yourself in such situations cause the horror is REAL.

No point in carrying forward this debate as well.

Give it a thought Mr/Mrs...

Italian pilots raved about their first 'Red Flag' exercise with the US-made F-35

Usually operating in flights of four aircraft, the F-35s acted as “force enablers,” neutralizing several threats: on average about seven SAM systems and five Red Air assets were “killed” during each mission, according to the Italian Air Force. Moreover, the five aircraft deployed to Nellis AFB were able to launch 100% of the planned missions: two four-ship missions, each day.

“Being at the controls of an F-35, a fifth-generation aircraft, has always been a dream. I imagined that the machine had unique capabilities in combat and I had the confirmation from the first flight […] but participating in the Red Flag, one of the best exercises in the world, confirmed it to me beyond all expectations” Maj. Alessandro P. said.

“The results we have achieved in these two weeks are almost unbelievable: the statistics do not need comments.”

The F-35 was the most effective asset in neutralizing SAM systems and absolutely essential in the timely sharing of all the specific information needed for the success of the mission.

“We knew we had an operational advantage, due to the 5th generation technology, but we didn’t expect such a high “kill” ratio: in the 16 OCA missions (Offensive Counter Air) we flew, we neutralized more than 100 SAM systems and never lost a plane,” commented Maj. Emanuele A.

“I was impressed by the capabilities demonstrated by the F-35 in a complex and realistic environment such as the Red Flag where there are real professionals who simulate the Red Air” added Maj. Giuseppe A. at the end of the exercise.

“During our missions we were among the first to enter the area of operations, far beyond the enemy lines, and the last to leave it, thanks to both the great persistence and the peculiar Low-Observability characteristics of our 5th generation aircraft. We were able to identify, transmit and neutralize ground and air threats very quickly, protecting the coalition’s assets in highly risky circumstances: the superior capabilities of the F-35 were often decisive. […] During the exercise, we achieved a high level of interoperability that allowed us, as a coalition, to tackle missions with a very high level of threat and complexity in which the F-35 was certainly essential to achieve its objectives.”

What a very odd world view you have. So Syria attacks Turkey, Turkey retaliates and you're most concerned with how Israelis are feeling?

And what's this about the "Muslim world". There's no such thing. Christian nations fight wars against each other, what's so special about Muslims?
because if christians jump off the roof the muslims dont have to follow suit. muslims are instructed not to fight among each other. i dont know whether christians have similar instructions in their book or not. may be i dont care about them.
read about greater israel concept and you will come to know why israel will be happy.

The main problem is not Syrian jets. The issue is Russian jets. So no fly zone is difficult.
cheers for being a realist.

Would Turks dare to go there?
No. If Russia turns on even S300 Turkey will stop flying those F16s. Even US had to negotiate with RUssia after S400 was turned on while they had beef in Syria before putting USAF in northern Syrian airspace. If Erdogan croses Russia's expected red line, there is a 0% chance F16 will not be shot down over Syrian airspace.

Putin cant save Assad no matter how much he tries.

.
This comment has been screenshot for debunking later. cheers.

Asshead had it coming.

Want a repeat of Cyprus.

Sorry but Asshead's genocidal regime needs to go. The "stability" you are talking about was nothing but that psychopath clinging to his throne by bombing his own people, reducing his own country to a rubble, evicting people from their homes and turning them into refugees and mass murdering his own people.
Iran and its proxies along with Russia also have their hands red with the blood of Syrian people.

Its sad to see people supporting Iran and her ally just because of sectarian affiliation. Had KSA been doing what Assad/Iran did, you would've been condemning it.

I don’t have a stake in this but I read people blame 800k death on Assad friends. Half the casualties in the conflict are Syrian army and civilian folk killed by the other side (whatever you wanna call them). I followed the situation from when it started and people seem to forget what these “rebels” started killing people not belonging to their brand of Islam from the start. As far as I know the Syrian government has all sects in its armed forces. Is Assad a nice guy? No but he is better than the fanatics from the other side. Turkey being in Syria is a mistake, they should stay away from this Islamic stuff and get back to their founder’s ideology of modern secularism. Turkish Army should get rid of all the Islamist in Turkey or risk becoming another Muslim ruled country like Iran. In the other hand awesome job so far by TSK in their operations against the militants on the other side. There is no comparison between an actual NATO military organization and some rather unorganized group of different groups that are loosely banded in what used to be the Syrian Army. Would have been nice to see a good conflict maybe when Hafez Assad was alive! Though Turks would have still beat Syrian forces anyway. Short of Jordanians, arabs are not so good. Excluding Algeria and Morocco and Of course Egypt. Iran ruled by these Muslim clerics will be another backward country until they get some leader like Kemal Ataturk who can kick Mullahs out. I’m sure Iranians can’t wait to get back in the civilized world and forget these Islamic fanatics ruling them. No offense to religious people but everything these fanatics touch turns to crap.

Turkey did israel's job. Now they (israeliz) can ack syria any day... Pathrtic state of middle east. Freakin pathetic people fighting for land and political power.
I mean, Muslim Turkey is still part of White Christian dominated NATO, which calls Jewish Israel a partner...so from my end, NO inconsistency detected with what you said.

Although what limits were declared by Russians is a different question, I think in such a scenario Air Force can sustain its operations via Turkish airspace conducting SEAD operations to take out Syrian S-300. After all the distance between Idlib to nearest Turkish border is less than 75 km, at max. And TURAF will not hesitate to shoot them down. Because this moment is perhaps the peak point for Turkey in Syria. There is too much to loose, including a refugee crisis, neither the government nor the armed forces is going to back down from this unless serious assurances are given by Russia which would also mean some compromise to them vice versa.

Also here's an interesting take on the issue, a different perspective, I wonder what everyone thinks about it.

"Twist of events.. The airplane that was shoot this morning over Saraqib was Turkish Air Force TAI Anka-S, armed combat drone". Syria is not air full of sophisticated air defence system , but raw type air defence system with all variety.
This SU24 , I think , not sure ...

The 2 jets which were shot over Syria were Syrian. Turkish drones have been shit down at many places in Syria. Turkey is using drone to deplete Syrian air defense and then hitting them with strikes. It is not one but many drones have been shot but at the same time many air defense also destroyed.

What the Asad regime thinking, taking on the most powerful airforce in the region?
airforce alone cant win any way. Didnt you learn from US and ISraeli wars in the region? US has the best airforce in the world and Taliban still kept US in Afghanistan for 20+ years. your airforce wont save you. you msut send men in, and your men will die with no guarantee of you holding Idlib. Look at Saudis- BEST AIRFORCE IN TEH GULF but they cant beat Houthis because they cant muster 15K men who are needed to march on Sanaa. Keep dreaming.

Long live Turkish kin and their tribes.

Pakistanis overwhelmingly support you.

Finally, looks like Turks have had enough.

Maintain this attitude, Turks.

And Pakistanis, in this whole Syrian plot, no party is more reasonable and justified than Turks.

Imagine Afghanistan being playground of every tom dick and harry....???

Props to Turks.....At this very same time around last year, Pakistan shot down two russian jets operated by Indians.....and today, at the very same time, Turks did the same...

Hmmm so we were discussing about Pakistan having Panstir and/BUK Air Defences for its Army Formations and Navy Ships. Looks like.....
I have repeatedly expressed my reservations about the decision to procure Russian AA/AD assets. Russian equipment have repeatedly come up short against NATO-standard strike package in engagements since the 1980s. Both Israel and USA have demonstrated time and again in Syria that Russian and Chinese AA/AD assets will not deliver when up against NATO-standard strike package. Now Turkey is showing the same.

Pakistan should reach out to both Turkey and USA for cooperation in defense-related matters. Narrowing down our focus to Russian and Chinese options is a grave mistake because WE risk growing out of touch with NATO-standard options otherwise.
