The whole world owe a lot to Britain and Winston Churchill for holding on against the Nazis. They are definitely one of the major factors for victory in WWII. In Europe, Russia deserve the most credit. And globally, I would say they contributed and suffered the most as the front line was constantly changing, Khakov changed hands 4 different times. The battle of Stanlingrad was legendary.
