The names sound so similar :( Jiangsu Zhijiang Guangdong Shandong :P I have heaard about Macau but since its China it has never been clear to me.. I met a guy from Taiwan and he said he is from China but I read some where Taiwan is not a part of China. It is all so confusing
Ummm....
Many places in China had been colonized...Like Taiwan(At first colonized by Holland, then Japan...ROC gov escape from mainland and resist reunioning and plan to fight back, but they fail,of course),Macau,Hong kong,Shanghai,NE 3 provinces, and many big cities in mainland..
Those are issues left over by history.
Taiwan situation now:not independent,not unified.
Indeed...I don't why some of them don't regard themselves as Chinese,in Taiwan Han accounds for 98%,more than mainland.

If you know Chinese language and read books by Taiwan old people, you will find that they call themselves Chinese,However many things have changed since 李登辉(educated by Japanese...) came to power...
Revise textbook, reduce Chinese influence and betray KMT(Republic of China gov)...He changed many Taiwanese thinkings....(So,How can we like Japan,it brings so much pain to China)

Now,KMT gives in and gives up the call"Republic of China".
New Party and 中华统一促进党(China reunion promoting Party) promote reunion.
Democratic Progressive Party set up by 李登辉 rejects reunion.

Oh,wait.
Republic of China+The People's Republic of China=China,of course he can call himself Chinese/from China.
But some people in Taiwan think Chinese isn't a good word to them.(China's international reputation isn't good, someone think it's shameful to be called Chinese in Taiwan....)
There are also some people regarding themselves as Chinese..

Here in mainland, many websites are providing platforms for two sides to communicate.Don't believe everything that west media say..Come to Tianya and you can ask Taiwanese about their thinkings.
Have a look at Taishang :D ,He uses China as "Country",and in Tianya, there are some Taiwanese approve "One China".

PDF has sth. wrong..In fact, the so-called taiwan flag is Republic of China flag...

**Do you know Fang Wenshan?

:o:You are giving waayyy too much info
I think so:hitwall:

Tai wan,of course, is a part of china. The people in Taiwanese are taught be hostile to face the mainland of china,CCP.If we overlook the politic devergence, Taiwanese know where are they come from and which country they belong to.
Most of them dont like mainland because they still hold the outmoded notion about mainland."Although they got much money, they are rude and foolish guy."

Taiwan is pretty much the Chinese who rejected communism
There are talks on reuniting while keeping their own seperate systems like Hong Kong did but I read that the Pro-Independence parties are gaining more support in Taiwan recently

Are people in Mainland China allowed to live in Taiwan? Is the movement free or is it some what restricted like in Hong Kong?

The taiwan gov dont allow the people from mainland to settle in taiwan free unless you married with taiwanese or invest in taiwan or got the green card in the so-called "free world" for five years, you can get permission for settling down in taiwan.

That's actually bad for Taiwan.
More and more Taiwanese businessmen, technicians, scientists are moving to mainland to settle down.
Economic unification,lol
Even the chip maker TSMC whose boss is considered anti-KMT is now moving to mainland.

This is a complex question/issue(?)...

Post-80s purchase over half of China's homes in 2011-2015: expert
2015-12-28 14:32 Ecns.cn Editor: Mo Hong'e

(ECNS) -- More than half of China's homes have been purchased by the post-80s from 2011 to 2015, with housing improvement demands set to increasingly contribute to sales in the next five years, said a senior researcher.

Qin Hong, director of policy research at the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, made the statement during a speech on the outlook of property investment for the 13th Five-Year (2016-20) meeting in Beijing on December 25.

About 50-60 percent of homes on the market were sold to the post-80s in the 12th Five-Year (2011-2015) period, during which the country's housing market was mainly bolstered by rigid demand due to the demographic factor, she said.

However, the number of Chinese aged 20-29 is on the decline and will continue to fall in the coming years, therefore, the majority of housing demand will gradually shift from rigid demand to housing improvement needs, Qin explained, adding that the government's move to allow a second child for all families will also contribute to the rise of such demand.

Accordingly, property companies will see more mergers and acquisitions in the years to come while the second-hand housing market will continue to expand and offer new opportunities.

Securitized products will become the mainstream of property investments, while innovation and transformation will be spotlit in the next five years, it was added.

I thought the majority of post-1980s could not afford housing.
