1857: How The Brits Blew Up Indian Mutineers With Canons!

ship cannons during operation polo by indian forces.....what you call those big guns mounted in front of most navy ships.

Operation Polo saw very few ships involved, on either side.

In Goa, ironically, the original title of this piece might have been relevant. Canons were more lethal and killed more Goans than did cannons. However, that happened centuries before Operation Vijay.

I find attempts to manufacture outrage only at the British amusing.

Don't see similar anger at Subas Chandra Bose for allying with this lot.

I am neither for forgiving nor forgetting.

They failed to see how they were once British's slave and still are.
We're still slaves of the Brits? :woot: You're in a goddamn time warp where the universe stands still! A lot of water has flowed under the bridge. Britain is now emaciated and a sunset power. Most people can't even find it on a map. :P

Don't let that fool you though, UK still holds great financial power in banking and capital as London is still an international capital of Finance along with NYC. UK is in NATO and also a prominent member of the EU. They territorially may be smaller but their power is still mighty, of course not relatively to their golden age of the 19th century colonial rule, because the lands they once conquered are now better armed and developed than centuries ago.

The outrage expressed here is understandable.

It wasnt an age where human rights mattered. Humans like they are today back then were also marginally above animals in their inter personal behavior.

The mutineers or freedom fighters did no better. By any accounts , killing of women & children was not acceptable both socially & in the religious books of the Hindu & Muslims.

Britishers are resposible for most of the problems subcontinent is facing right now

I don't agree with your this conclusion. It was 18th centuries Indian's weakness that Britisher's "just" exploited. If you think Britishers are responsible for most of the problems that subcontinent is facing right now, than why those problems are not rectified yet? Who is stoping the people of subcontinent from solving those problems? Britishers?
