The responsibility lies with the Afghan ppl as to why their country is where it is. If they had gotten their act together...they could've prospered. They started off in a much better position than India/Pak(at the onset of 1947 and onwards). Today they stand where they stand bcuz of their own collective actions. So while one could feel sorry for one individual depending on his/her situation...one shouldn't feel sorry for the whole nation.

As for "forgiving" unruly behavior bcuz deporting them back to their country would suck for them...oh well they should've thought of their precarious situation before acting like that. I live in SoCal(southern California) and from time to time I come across illegal Mexicans...u should see how they live here. They put up with ppl's shit...they get taken advantage of...they get abused...and yet they still abide by every law possible and live a cautious life in constant fear of being caught and deported.

I once came across a Mexican guy who was living here illegally...he was hired for construction work as a laborer...given some cash in advance...then paid by the day...and the remaining sum to be given once the job is done. He worked as asked for the duration...on the last day of work...he was given the money for that day and told to come back tomorrow to collect the remaining dues. He went back the next day...only to find the contractor was nowhere to be found. He wasn't the only one who was screwed over like this...there were about a dozen other such illegal laborers hired along with him...all of them were screwed over like that and that's on top of already paying them below the minimum wage. These guys were definitely deserving of that money...they had more than earned it. I know how hot summers get in that part...and they did hard work(construction work) in that summer heat daily...
...did they pick a fight? Break/burn stuff? Their anger would've been definitely justified. They couldn't even go to the police or get justice through any other means. The contractor abused them bcuz he could...and they just put up with it silently bcuz they knew that they had mouths to feed back home.

They don't believe in laws, they don't accept central authority, they don't believe in taxes, purpose of state for them is for free handovers without taxes, military loyalty is limited to tribal affiliations rather than state.

They couldn't find many people who could do anything for "Afghanistan". The world believes in that name more than Afghans themselves.

Individually many of them specially pashtoons have good work ethics but collectively they don't exist as a society, not even as a large tribe.

They just want to live in past greatness which is more or less based on rape and pillage of other nations. Unfortunately Pakistani establishment is always taking steps to take the blame for failure on the afghan society to shift it away from Americans and their allies.

Sir, that's besides the point. What these people need to know is that's what happens when you live on the frontier with a fucked up place like Afghanistan. We punjabis didn't put them there. It's a strange argument they have why didn't punjabis also die due to terrorism.

Why don't Pushtun nationalists let go of their ethnic affiliation with Afghans and wholeheartedly embrace Pakistan (they are already more of them here in Pak, than in Afg). Give up their opposition to the closed border. Then shut the border down tighter than your sphincter. North Korean DMZ style. Barring the legal checkpoints ofc.

US basically could've spent all the billions it spent on Afghanistan(war + trying to prop it up) at home...strengthening border security and tightening visa policies and TSA procedures.

Afghans should have been left to their own devices...they only pose a threat to a nation...when they get there...
...as a country it doesn't pose much of a threat to any surrounding neighbors(who are much stronger militarily) let alone to a country on the other side of the globe.
