14,000 FATA youth to join Pakistan army

[
Nah he was a Sipahi and later became subedar, he even fought in 1971 and was arrested by Indian army after fall.....he got out of it when he became ill
That was a long time ago, much has changed since then. Actually, my info is firsthand as when I appeared for PMA some 4-5 years ago at pindi center, recruitment of jawans was also going on and written test, pushups, chin ups and medical was what I saw with my own eyes. Only thing which happened outside the center and not infront of me was running. A lot of people apply now a days and the competetion is tough, so is the selection process unlike the old days.

If there are written tests, then people from FATA would certainly be lacking in that. Desert is saying that merit criteria is lessened for them.....but man, i dislike QUOTA system in jobs. If written tests is selection criteria for army, then it should be same for all, shouldnt be easy for the FATA one and other areas......

Once, schools and roads are made in FATA, only then we must eliminate the quota system. For now, quota is good system is a good step as it will encourage more people from FATA to apply but after some time when we are able to give better education facilities to FATA then we must abolish the quota system.

It's kinda ironic that you are accusing others of peddling martial race theory yet in reality it's you yourself whose making pathetic and laughable claims.. A history buff and a doctor like yourself should have been wiser yet you are so childish and shallow...
Martial race theory might be appealing to you and other fauji families but in my opinion it was shrewd tactic of British to motivate their desi soldiers. Tell them your race is special , its in your genetics, and they will feel special. The excessive praising from British, kept the Desi Sepoy motivated to serve them. British couldnt not say to them that they are fighting for their country or religion, so they have to come up with some thing. For British loyalty of Desi sepoys was essential more than their martial attributes. How come Marathas were unfit for their army or Rohillas of Doab, or Nayaks of Karntaka?......its not that they were not good soldiers, British simply didnt trust them. Punjabi musalman, Sikh, Gurkha, Peshawer valley's Pashtun sided with British in 1857 war and they were awarded with this ridiculous certificate. While Rohilla Pathans, Bengalis, Marathas and Awadhis revolted , so they were excluded from martial race category.

Its true that some communities are more into warring, while some are docile and peaceful, but its not because of their race but because of the nature of their society and most importantly, because of history. Guro Gobind Singh turned Sikhs from peaceful into a martial community, because of their bad history with Mugahls.

FATA has 8 million population.......15000 is not exactly big number in proportion to their population. British Indian army recruited more soldiers from FATA than this even though the area was hostile to them. From Afridi tribe alone three thousands soldiers were recruited in regular army in WWI, beside Khyber rifles, at the time when population of FATA was much smaller.

Unlike Punjab, this belt has historically always produced professional soldiers which has served in the armies of Delhi sultanates, Mughal empire, Deccan sultanates and even in armies of Hindu Rajas. If you think about it, share of rich and fertile Punjab in army shouldnt be more than 10%, most of the soldiers should have been recruited from relatively arid and rugged regions of FATA, South KPK and Balochistan.
kindly reply to my posts in other threads before quoting me here,
thanks.

2 days ago i talked to my family and my dad told me that the people of my Tribe came down from Daburi area of Tirah(our origin) valley and had a big gathering with my dad.

They requested my dad to provide land for 1 school for boys and 1 for girls and take up their request to the relevant authorities. when dad told me about it i got so excited, as before these people were very reluctant to education and at one stage they burnt our house too just only coz we wanted to build a school for them, now its the same people and they want schools for their children. it made my dad very happy and promised them that we will provide land for the schools and will take up their request to the higher authorities too.

may be its the right time for us to educate our people in FATA, this claim of some people that they don't want schools is pathetic. yes they might have been reluctant in the past but people of FATA are much more open now and heavy investment in these areas is needed. that is the only way to drag them out of this culture of guns.

FATA should be merged with KP.. Our made into a seperate province... Settle the area... Remove the pathetic FCR ... It's high time the govt takes steps for the betterment of the region and the country at large.

khocha, these things are beyond what yr small Pathan mind can comprehend.

Yr post shows yr a typical ignorant as yr kind usually are. Have u even ever tried to visit their own forums? Forums like Bharat Rakshak, Indian Defence Forum etc etc?

Pakistanis even dont visit them anymore because of the insults abuses they put on Pakistan. While in this forum these creatures are allowed to participate, so much so that they are now more in numbers, even given Think Tank titles with honor and respect. And they pay us by posting crap abt Pakistan, their state propaganda and rubbish abt us even in this forum. While in Bharat Rakshak they dont even accept yr membership.

Try to first investigate both sides of story before making up yr mi
I agree with your assessment , PDF might be a relative Paradise compared to Bharat-Rakhsak or some thing like that but there is always room for improvement. My suggestions were not aimed in defense of wrong-doers of India, its about justice.
