13th ECO Summit: Islamabad-Pakistan

Compare some one losing life for not being able to make it to the hospital or call for help while the years of progress remains nothing but hyper bole :agree:
State affairs Take decades not minutes
Relying to much on Tech we humans are losing patience , Majority of these countries are 3 to 7 decades old ,
Yes Progress is Slow , Corruption , Injustice , But Change Can only Come From Inside no one Will Jump the Gun for You
Pakistan is progressing with all its problem , its showing recovery , its People Showing Sign and try for the better
Every thing wont Change in 1 day or year

Let me Put in some other way so you Can understand
People Take Pakistan was created in few years , Yes Quaid ( baba ) was the Main Catalyst which brought the Change but there where others things at play for more than 5 6 decades

So if You think if a deal is done with country and next day you will be able to buy a Ferrari because everyone will gets tons of Money not gone happen , but these deals get access to new cheap markets , Labour , New Technology , resources , which helps in project which help the country which helps its common people

There will be Islamabad declaration that will be passed in this summit and ECO will become an economic block in which anyone can progress. Iran gas pipeline was blocked by US and GCC efforts but now it is on green light and it takes time to complete but now Pakistan is clearly moving away from the GCC diplomatic influence and that would be a help. There are many field which common people can tap into here
"WILL BE" All these past projects were "WILL BE" too once and what we get in present are the excuses :tsk: Anyways we will see about these. Must mention again that it's not Pakistan's discourse with others which is the concern rather it's the obstructions which entail for common folks and hamper their everyday lives. If Pakistan is to host International events they should be done while keeping in view citizens convenience.

Well Islamabad is quite a big and well planned city to be blocked by this movement, first of all the point you have raised is quite a minimum effect that Islamabad would have from this. Pakistani economy suffered more because of Dharna in Islamabad but anyhow It is one brain that has to be open enough to look for opportunity in these types of events.

I don't know about the rest but just free trade with few of these countries I can make millions of USD out of it. It depends how you view an event. Any how every one has his own opinion of the situation. One man's junk is other man's Gold.

Let's expand the scope and not just focus on this summit...........Be it some religious day, nationally important days including parades, or just VVIP movements, there follows a plethora of problems for the residents of that particular locality. If we are improving then it's justified to demand that our standards of life be improved and not compromised like that. Pakistan is facing security situation, so better if such summits are organized in an area where not only the security can be effectively managed and people wont have to have face any issues.
The rest of the debate regarding gradual progress and all remains objective and futile to discuss unless we see actual results and drawing a note out of history I rather stick to facts.

You do know most institutions & businesses here have been ordered to stay close for tomorrow? Islamabad is big? :o:That's a news to me and I have been living here for decades. There are only two main passages which connect Isb to Rwp now imagine that one is entirely closed what will be happening on the other one.... here's a hint :guns:.

So you are concerned more about closed roads than the direction country is heading into. lol. Sorry but I get your point as you have nothing to criticize other than closed roads here I got to the place from where you are speaking.

DUH! Ofcourse I am concerned about the problems erected for us residents and not the progress delusions. As the saying goes: The one who wears the shoe, knows where it pinches. You don't live here so quite convenient to sit behind a computer screen and throw these politically correct statements. :p:

Okay this thread is completely derailed. Please start another one for 'Woes of islamabad' and keep this for updates about the summit.

@WebMaster Please make sure if the discussion is civil, diverging opinions are well represented and respected here. Thanks.

Why Ghani is invited? He was also agreeing to the isolation sometime ago. I think the artillery has done the job. What do you think?
He was invited to give him a chance to get back on track but he is not coming to his senses but for how long they can hold on to a closed border soon they will take to UN for closing the border and we will push our agenda there and they will be finally doing our job. Afghanistan is a land locked country and they have a right to an open border but this situation also has terrorist factor involved in it so this will be some discussion in the coming days.

If Ghani backs out Afghanistan will be losing economically because Turkish Head of state has also landed and deal of the economic block will be signed tomorrow. This will be a historical event for Iran and Turkey they will be uniting here if they both sign which they will it will be a new Muslim block that will be good for all.

Welcome to another home Mr. President.....

Mate @Djinn raised a legit point . Why not shift all the head of the states and dignitaries to a more secure and secluded place so the general folks don't get bothered . I mean , it's becoming a routine business to block roads and jam cell signals for hours to accommodate a single person . If they feel so threatened then a heli service could be provided to them :)
