We shouldn't export fruits. They should be for poor Pakistanis.

. .

Our responsibility should be to feed our people not the whole world just for the sack of few bucks. Millions upon millions of people in Pakistan can't afford fruits or their per capita consumption is low and yet we keep on exporting to other countries and increasing prices in Pakistan which ultimately reduces poor man's reach to buy any fruit to meet even minimum requirement of consumption.

Ok, I'll take an economic class only if you promise me you'll atleast research on what should be the minimum consumption of fruit per capita and where does Pakistan stand especially poorer class.

Done.
You know what the appropriate answer would've been? Introducing school lunches, where kids are feed fruits, vegies, glass of milk, 2 naans and a sawlan. Every school day at 12:00pm

And what will be the incentive for the poor farmer who grows these fruits?
Even when exporting, they don't get as high of a value as they should, imagine what would they get if they were to dump them in the local markets?
Yes the common man who can't earn their food will benefit but who then will want to keep growing these?

We do not want to stop our exports and make our farmers even poorer and kill whatever economy we have.
We want to enable the poor to be able to earn more to afford more.
And those poor folk can also become farmers and export more.

Done.

Lol but cheap prices never enable people to buy more. The ability to afford more does.
Pakistani Mangoes in dubai will easily cost you AED 10 upwards. That's literally AED 5 - 6 (~180 PKR) per mango. Yet people buy and enjoy them.

Farmers usually don't earn a lot of money whether fruits are to be sold locally or exported, exporters do, unless farmer is also an exporter.

As for the ability to buy, it depends. To some extent you can buy an overpriced item but there comes a time when you simply give up. Take for example overpricing/shortage during Ramazan.
*Reminds me another thread where people were talking about how increasing tax on cigarette would reduce smoking habits.

. . . .
Pakistan looses a quarter of its fruit due to bad harvesting, packaging, transportation and then storage. If you want the fruit for ur country men orchildren ir even exports... Save that bit and u would still be able to export the same as being exported now.
