What's new

111 Brigade the time is Nigh!!!

....
The more I read pre-partition Indian and post-partition Pakistani history the more I'm convinced..

I hope that study and read goes beyond the movie Gandhi :D

Seriously!

we need a separate thread to discuss what you are saying. There are a lot of misrepresentation about the events from 1900 to 1947.

A lot of!

..... Wikileaks showed that he even expressed his belief to the American ambassador that it was the Americans who chose Pakistan's military leader, not Pakistan's civilian leadership, something that made the ambassador's eyes spin....

This is the problem

Islamists and leftists (MPLN is more Islamists and little Leftist) politicians and academics blame everything on USA and go back to smoking Hukkah.

I didn't like that piece of unbalanced propaganda (though the movie's visuals were rather good.)

I don't think Gandhi was on my mind here. Z.A.B. was a powerful campaigner, but of course the vision he sold Pakistanis on was designed to seat him in power over a nation, not serve the greater good. Imran Khan has visions, but rather daft ones. Imo, Pakistan needs fifty more like him in peaceful democratic competition with each other to really establish itself as a democratic country - something that there is hope of if the current democratic system remains, but which there is no hope of if the 111 brigade acts and democracy is overthrown once more.

We are on the same page bro

See my response on page-1.

No one in their right mind can support the overthrow of elected governments. It is HUGELY damaging locally and internationally.

no one vote for them, but they vote to them self, but no need to get angry at me, let's drop the discussion, if you hate me for other reasons.

:)
I don't hate you and neither am angry.
This situation we're in is because of us and we have to struggle to get out of it, but we are doing nothing about it...

Well I disagree that no one vote for them. A lot of people voted for them....

Worse would be common man taking up arms themselves. This has already been indicated by some groups during protests against TTP killing. Remember if there is smoke there is fire. If they have mentioned it in the speeches, they will end up doing it; if these butchers are not stopped. Then we can well imagine what will be prevailing in the country "A civil war".
Dare I ask, what are we trying to do here.
If I may say, our leadership is definitely confused - atleast that is what I can comprehend from past few days and from past few press conferences.

- What do they(taliban) have to bargain for? ah! we killed them, we attacked their region, we need to pull out of this Amreeikan war....
- So what are we offering them (taliban)? ah! we are giving them back their land and we wil let them open "Political Office" in Islamabad....

- and why should we do that? - because this is what Americans are doing in Afghanistan.

what many fail to realize it - you just cannot compare the two cases, as they both are different and miles apart, their is one thing common among them and that is the word "Taliban"

You want to give their Tribal area back to them - fair enough, BUT first kick out the AQ members, kick out the uzbeks and chechens,,,,
You want to open a political office - no way that is happening.....

we have to strengthen democracy, we have to rotate, bring fresh and middle class blood in the system, then to hope to see dictators taking over !

Present democratic and judicial system cannot deliver what you want. Unless and until article 62 &63 are implemented in true spirit, it will not happen. Until restriction of holding public office for two times is reinstated. As long as political parties are run by demi gods. Just look which political party is without one including PTI.

hope Pakistan never sees another black day when dictator snatches power from public representatives!
If things remain like this, the day is not far.

Hang on a minute Sir. Let us be clear about the oath and what it really means before we go on with this particular discussion.

without Constitution and people's representation, there will only be chaos. dictatorship is no form of government, its dictatorship.

we need to evolve ourselves around democracy, as its the best form of government the world is known to. any other thoughts in some, are just shortcoming of evolutionary process !

sorry, but with sinstation & elites representation, we hve now is damocrazy?
the chaos is much more higher then, dicta-to-cracy, which was more in control in terms of security, writ of state, & economy?
i mean still, with elites representation , we still not able to stop the terrorism in pakistan, specially in KPK?
where the govt is protection & supporting TTp terrorists?

Yes its form of democracy. not perfect but we need to shape it to be more representative, rather than going back to square one with a dictator.

PESHAWAR: A timed bomb exploded in the Tableeghi Markaz on Charsadda Road in Peshawar during the ’Shab-e-Juma’ on Thursday, killing at least nine people and injuring over 60 people, Express News reported.

The bomb, planted in a can of cooking oil, occurred inside the main hall of the two-storey preaching centre during Maghrib prayers. The terror attacks were not immediately claimed by any group.

“The death toll from the blast at the preaching centre has raisen to nine,” provincial health minister Shaukat Yousafzai told AFP. The dead and injured included children.

“Seven patients are in critical condition and I fear a rise in the death toll,” he said.

Most of the injured were treated at the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

Bomb Disposal Squad and police revealed that explosives weighing around five to six kilogrammes had been packed inside a ‘ghee’ (cooking oil) tin and had been smuggled into the mosque in an individual’s bedding. It is a common practice at the ‘Shab-e-Juma’ to bring one’s own mattress for an overnight stay at the mosque.

“Five kilograms of explosives were dumped in a can. It
went off when the building was jam-packed with worshippers in
the evening,” head of local BDS Shafqat Malik said.

The premier and President as well as various politicians condemned the incident. Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has sought a report of the incident from IG of police in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.

Additional bombs defused

Following the bomb blast in the evening, BDS was recalled to the site to investigate a suspicious sleeping bag.

Officials discovered that the bag contained explosives and officials utilised specialised equipment to defuse the bomb.

Soon after, a search yielded a third bomb at the site which had also been disguised as a ‘ghee’ tin. The bomb was also defused by the BDS.

Two additional bombs found at the centre have also been defused by the BDS using specialised equipment.

One bomb was found in a sleeping bag which the BDS defused using a robot.

A third bomb, disguised as a ‘ghee’ tin, has also been defused. BDS officials said that the third bomb weighed between five to seven kilogrammes.

The device was spotted near pillar 49 in the main hall and was removed by the BDS.

Officials said that the two bombs had been connected to mobile phones, which were being used as remote detonators.

After the recovery of the third device, police and BDS launched a comprehensive search of the premises. The administration had previously refused to allow the entry of police in the building.

A case of the incident was also registered against unknown persons.

sorry but if you think thats called democracy, you need to grow up?
no democrcy, doesnt means a surender of a state to terrorists?
giving them free offices, but when they appoint you as thier representative/negociator you just chose to run away in fear of terrorists?
ornyou just want damocrazy, just because you think your unexperinced party or leader can become the ruller in 2017-18?
foolish thinking , im sorry to explore .

Well, I think the leadership was expecting that the Taliban would not take the negotiations seriously or give completely illegitimate demands. However, the Taliban seem to have focused on the one thing that ALL of Pakistan is utterly confused about: Shariat.

No one in their right minds agrees on EXACTLY what it is yet ALL(80%) of Pakistanis want it in their lives somehow as they seem to hope it brings them closer to god and end their suffering. Yet, the sort of public Shariat that the Taliban and their nominated negotiators propose is nothing close to the concept and is instead barbaric laws designed to ensure superiority of a select clergy and enforce an intolerant society from EVERY angle possible. So perhaps, what we may be facing soon is a SWAT like situation in many parts of the country.. the Taliban have already infiltrated major cities and soon these "mutawwas" may roam freely with the support of parties like PTI(whose members will ironically be the first targeted for their demographic) and JI.. a semi post revolution Iran situation might arise. This may result in Kayanis fears about "they have come for our nukes" being realized.

But this is a worse case scenario. A likely scenario is that these negotiations will drag on to the extent the KP will suffer this Sharia along with certain sections of Punjab.. and a relative peace may be declared with 40000 lost meaning nothing. Investors may leave on such actions and then the government will backtrack and launch another operation to finally get rid of this menace but the human cost this time will be much higher.

No , Oscar . The politicians of the state of Islamic Republic of Pakistan do not possess such wisdom and farsightedness to try to do that otherwise they wouldn't even have embarked on this misadventure in the first place . Trust me , they really thought that the negotiations ( despite the previous experiences ) may be successful this time because of their seriousness and flexibility , little they know about the psychopaths on the other side . I do not understand , why cant the intelligence agencies and the military knock some sense into these politicians because even prostitutes deal better than Govt of Pakistan !

The magic word ! Sharia , what is it ? One feels compelled to ask . Is a single version appropriate and acceptable to all or do we not even agree that a single version does even exist today ? Are we not aware of the hundreds of sects , subsects and all the divisions within , the religion ? At the moment , this is nothing more than just a feel good word , something which is declared as the basis of creating the country for Muslims . Nobody knows what is it and what does it do and how relevant is it , in today's world . Their negotiators are making some serious statements now , declaring themselves as savior and God's gift and warning that an another operation will be suicide for the state , even to the extent that Taliban are safeguarding the constitution of Pakistan and every mosque is an office of terrorists . Do you see where are we going at ? This nation is confused , both in terms of ideology and identity and this whole drama will add upto that , to the point that a return would be unlikely , chaotic and deadly ( read withdrawal symptoms of BZD ) . You have transferred power into the hand of three Mullahs , one of which has been directly involved in acting against the state and committed treason . The radicalized masses of Pakistan will term them as the hero and blame Govt , army and the third hand , if the talks fail at any point now . The PTI and PML N have played their cards wrongly and forget success , they will be lucky if they manage to save themselves from defeat . The situation in the country is worse and is worsening day by day , the terrorism has affected the whole economy and stability appears a very distant dream . Trust me , the country has already been divided and balkanized psychologically , what remains to be seen , is if the ideological divide will extend to that on the map . The moderates and the minorities are being targeted . We are just one step close of being ruled by these barbarians either and the responses from all sides , do not give anyone much hope . So what if one day , the Taliban demands are accepted , because the Govt has no other option or believes that it has none ( despite having ) or hands over control seeing the public responses ? The investors leave , the economy is done , the army and the courts have no value or real purpose left anymore , chaos is the order of the day the International isolation is there and a coalition comes for the nukes ( a highly unlikely scenario seeing the risks , but if the benefits outweigh the side effects , even that has the possibility of happening ) . This is the worst case scenario and do not ask me of any other , because at this precise moment , I cant think of other .
